The instructions say that I must use 20% in the engine. I have always used 10% in everything else that I have owened (maximum st, evader, 2 rc10gt's) but the instructions say MUST use 20%. I want the engine to last as long as possable and I tried my 10% duralube mix with it and it runs liek a turd where as the others scream.
Is there something I am doing wrong that it wont run on the same mix as the others. This is my first BB engine and will the size be the reason for this?
Thanks
And yes I am sure you may ask about the duralube I mix with the 10%.
I have found that a small ammount (cap full) to one gallon and mix everytime before you you take from the jug works for me. All of my engines have not shown much wear at all. I have also had my nitro star .15 ss in my gt flip over and run full throttle for over a minute till I got to it. I was sure it would of been damaged. But nope took it apart it looked like new still and everything was tight. Put it all together again and had compression like it was new and still runs even after 3 gallons run through it. I have to say it is what ever that is in the duralube. I have had it where I stuck too much in the gallon and left alot of resude (sp) but it still didnt effect the way it ran and I have had chunks of the duralube floating on top that the engine has sucked through it.
I guess I mention all of this so that if my first question can still run the duraube through it. I would like to have this engine last as long as the others.
Oh and my maximum st has had 5 gallons of my duralub mix through it and it now starting to loose commpression but still screams! So that is what I would like for my .21 bb
I also dont use after run oils but rather flood it with the duralube spray that comes with the combo package.
Ok enough talking crap and if you read all of this thanks for putting up with it and any reply to any of it would be great.

to my knowledge the lower nitro content shouldn't damage the engine, if anything probably increase the life it. What matters more in terms of engine wear and fuel is probably the oil content. Although for a Savage the 10% might be a bit too low to produce enough power to run it. I'm using 15% and I haven't had any problems.

I believe he's talking about oil content, not nitro content.

As far as why the engine runs poorly on the low oil content, it's probably not designed to run on that fuel.
