anyone know of a charger that will charge one or two planes ?
each batt has a switch . 2 for rx 1 for ign

Dymond Super Turbo. Charges and cycles 1-26 cells, 100 mah through 5 amps, nicd and nimh. Charges 1 battery at a time. Best value in a charger.

Sirius Limited. Charges 2 batteries at the same time. Nicd and nimh. Fixed charge rate of 2 amps. No cycler, no tx packs, only 2000 mah packs and larger.

Status: offline 		Is there a charger that will charge at least three outputs at one time in the 1650 - 2700 range. I hate having to charge one or two packs, then going back to charge the other one. I would like to be able to hook up one charge to one plane until I am ready to fly - even if this means buying multiple chargers.

Status: offline 		You want to charge them. I would check into these chargers, the Sirius line.........the SuperTurbo.............the SuperNova.........the Alpha 4.............the Einstein XL. You will have to decide which one works for you. RC Accessory has good prices and fast service. I own several of the above except for the Alpha 4. There really is no one charger to do it all for everyone. The Superturbo probably comes close.

Status: offline 		Based on what you asked for, here is my recommendation & why.

Super Turbo. Charges and cycles any size battery you would use.
Sirius Limited. Charges 2 high capacity packs at 1 time.
Pyramid 10 amp AC/DC converter. Allows you to use any of the 2 chargers at home off DC.

Yes it would be nice to have 1 unit that does it all, but that unit doesn't exist.

If you have read the other messages, everyone has multiple chargers. I personally use a Alpha 4, Super Turbo, and a Hobbico Multi charger.

off a 4 channel version of their Pro (or was
it their Limited ?). Thta would do it
for you and its ultrasimple to use.

Big drawback is its much too high a price of
something like $350-400 when all it really
is is 2 of their units in one box.

You could just buy 2 of their Pro's and be
done w/ it.

If you want slow charging only, you have
more options.

Status: offline 		The 4 port charger is way too expensive and very limited. 4 ports limited at 2 amps each, no cycle ability nor can it charge a tx. $399.00.

Status: offline 		Radio South has a few offerings you may be interested in.

First up, and not featured on their web site, is a 50 - 500 ma (50 ma steps) AC 4 port slow charger. $150. This will slow charge up to 5000mah NiCd or NiMH batteries.

Second are their Pro-Chargers. 1, 2 or 4 port versions available. These are DC fast chargers.

I have ordered the slow charger and a 2 port fast charger. I already have a SuperNova 250S for cycling.

He did not have the 4 port in stock, so he may be having it made up for me. This unit does not have a timer, it will charge as long as you leave it plugged in. A simple Intermatic timer ($5 at Home Depot) will allow you to charge for 1 hour a day to keep the batteries topped up (the preferred method, according to Red at the Battery Clinic). The timer can also be turned on manually for when you get home from the field. I will set mine to charge from 8 to 9 am. When I get home from flying and manually set the timer, it will turn off at 9am the next day. Then every day after that, it will charge from 8 to 9 and turn off again.

I have the Sirius 4-Port. I love it. Three leads are setup for battery packs and one for your transmitter. The one for the transmitter also comes with an adapter to pick up a pack instead. My understanding is that all four ports charge at 1amp... no adjustments.

At the field I couldn't be happier with this arrangment.

disappointing, particularly since they were
'working on it' for such a long time.

If you buy 4, I'm sure Evan will cut you a
good price

My buddy Chris used it at the field a couple of times and now has one on order too... we love 'em. :-)
