Status: offline 		Thanks, The trim tabs are cut from the elevator halves, sanded to shape and secured in place with piano wire.

I have followed the specs of the full size aircraft (supplied with the plans) i.e.+3 deg at wing root, -3,5 deg. at wing tip and +0,75 deg. at stabilizer.
It is concievable that the required elevator up-trim on my Shrike is a result of human error. (or sloppy craftmanship;-)

Was your +3 degrees on the wing root also tranferred to the firewall? I think I opened a can of worms here. My plans call for 0/0/0 on all three. Might just stick to that and let ya know how it goes. You are to hard on yourself. The trim could be a result of a kazillion things interacting. Beautiful plane........... Thanks for the help

I doubt it is sloppy craftsmanship. I have also set my firewalls to 0,0. I am going to try to find out what the actual incidence of the real aircraft is and see if it matches the plans. I bet it does since this design is pretty scale.

Status: offline 		Paul, Very nice looking Commander. The colour scheme is surely good for visibility too.

In order to avoid tip stall in the high tapered wing, I would recommend the same amount of washout as on the full size aircraft

They seem to be very forgiving planes. Even with one engine out:

Status: offline 		I just got an Aero Commander at an auction. I believe it might be a Bridi Shrike. It has a 78 inch wingspan and is about 56 inches long. Fiberglass fuse. I was wondering what the CG and throws would be on this bird?

Status: offline 		There are even curtains on the windows and an instrument panel with gauges. The paint job is like glass. Wish iy had retracts. Sadly though there is some hanger damage.

Status: offline 		Sorry it took so long to get back to you. The plans show the CG to be 76mm back from the leading edge of the wing, however I don't see any control surface throws on them. They must be in an instruction manual somewhere. Hope this helps.

Status: offline 		I need to find a good OS .46 FX first. The engines that were in it are OS 40 MAX V engines which are rear exhaust and won't work in it. I have one good OS .46 FX and as soon as I lay my hands on a second one I can start on it. It was definitely built to be a display plane as no pushrod is going to the front wheel. Video from the cockpit OK?
