nice looking 35 engine there. Any more specs on it? I am wondering if it will fit a narrow cowl of an airplane I am working on

matt

Dimensions are shown in a post above, by me, as an attachment pdf. Engine specs are also listed above and also appear on my website, www.swrcengines.com

Do you have a motor mount available for the engine?

We do not sell motor mounts, however this is a beam-mounted engine just like a glow engine. Commercial mounts such as Dave Brown, DuBro, etc. etc. are readily avaliable, possibly at your local hobby shop.

MT35 engine exhaust pattern are same as zenoah G26 . so the pitts around muffler works for G26 are OK for MT35

I have been trying to pick an airframe for my new MT35. I was thinking about purchasing the Sbach thats featured in the new products section, it's a really nice looking plane. But I have way too many NIB arfs in my shed already, and the best thing I already have, is a Showtime 90. I will be doing everything I can to keep the weight to a minimum as the showtime is borderline for gas but the MT35 is actually a few oz lighter than the 26cc engines some other people have used in this plane. On the plus side it should have over the top power to weight with the 35. One issue will be prop clearance, does anybody know of some good 3-blade props that would be about equal to a 19"x8" ?

Hi Seagull extra

try this link and find right prop for your showtime 90 . just keep the prop clearance is ok, I think 15‘ prop may works good luck
http://www.centralhobbies.com/props/3-blade.htm

Hey Seagull - You might want to consider that the crankshaft is already drilled and tapped for a 10-32 spinner bolt. Should be the same as an OS-160. A spinner adapter nut is not necessary unless, for some reason, you want to use one.

Thanx Joe. I will hold off on ordering the adaptor nut. I have a question about the weight given for the engine. It states 30.4oz engine only and 38.8 engine with ign. and exhaust. Thats a differance of 8.4oz, I know the rxcel ign. is 4oz that leaves 4.4oz for the muffler. My DL50 muffler is only 3oz and is much larger than the MT35 muffler. Does the 38.8oz include the engine mount as well?

That's a question that Tomy needs to answer as I am not privy to the source of the numbers. Tomy has been following this thread with interest so he will probably chime in soon.

I haven't bought the spinner yet but it will be aluminum as it only needs a 2.5" spinner.

I got my MT35 today . The first thing I did was weigh everything and I can confirm that the claimed weights are pretty much bang on. I am mounting it in my Showtime 90 and it will fit completely inside the cowl other than the exhaust. I will be fabricating my own custom exhaust and the only thing that will protrude out of the cowel is the exhaust outlet. I will try and post a pic. once I get it installed. I like the rear carb lay out of this engine much better than the strange side carb of the DL30. If this engine runs good, it will have the DL30 beat hands down. I am going on a weeks holidays starting Friday so unfortunately I will not get a chance to run it for a while so maybe someone else can report on how it runs and post their prop no's.

Just for a comparison I have weighed my DL50 as well. Here are the weights. No exhaust or plug but they do have prop washer assemblys. DL50=49.0oz MT35=29.8oz for a differance of 19.2oz. For a ready to fly comparison the differance will be quite a bit more ie. exhaust +1oz, extra fuel +3oz, engine mount +1oz for the 50. So the RTF weight differance will be roughly 24oz. This is what I have been wanting for a long time. 2/3 the power of a DL50 and 2/3 the weight of a DL50.
