I've use this method to mount boxes to the struts and they seem to work well. I put blind nuts into the boxes and attached with nylon bolts.

Pieter,

Is that saying enough for my update Gary ?

Probably not ,

First of all we had lots of fun , that is the most important thing .
The weather was the worse than we could have had, and we had it !

For weeks the temp's in Germany ware warm nice and dry , the contest is coming and the bad weather is following .
High winds and cold rain on Saturday, high winds on Sunday .

Now the results ,I don't blame my bad results on the weather, more on the lack of practice ,I went to the contest with only 16 jumps on the counter for the entire year .

One jump 31 cm and the rest 1200/700/1200/700/700 . (in Germany the maximum number of jumps is 6 , in the USA, unlimited that's makes a difference )
Finally ended as nr 46 of the 71 competitors , I am happy I was not the last one to turn out the light
Think that this was the worst contest I had in years .

I left the contest on Sunday before the mass jump's and awards ceremonial ,caused by health problems ( that old back )

So to be honest , It's maybe not so bad that I can not make it to Muncie this year after all, it saves me the embarrassment of failure

I may hope you have good weather in September in Muncie ,

Good luck to you all ! and probably see you guys next year again .

Jules

Hi Jules,

Glad you had a good time, that is the main thing.
Sorry the weather didn't cooperate.

I see Theo finished in first place.............for the Belgians, huh, I guess that puts you last in that catagory, sorry I couldn't resist,

Congrats to Pieter for his 17th place finish.

Is there an English copy of the rule book, I translated some of it with Google.
Is the 1200 score from landing out side of the target area? Tried to figure it out by looking at the rule book.
Where does the 700 come from? landing on the round target area.

This came from the rule book.
Landing "Outside" 1200 pts 0 pts
Landing "in place" 700 pts 0 pts

It looks like there was a good turn out with 71 contestants.

I think we'll be lucky to have a dozen at Muncie, but we'll have fun!

Hi Gary ,

Your translation is not bad at all !
The 1200 pts is for landing outside the defined area .
The 700pts is for landing inside the defined ( marked with a brightly colored string or tape )
In this area is also regulated , that the jumper's feet should touch the ground " first" (if not 150 penalty pts)
and the front of the canopy must face against the wind in a 90° angel, the vector is marked with a brightly colored band ,if not 150 penalty pts )
The wind vector or direction to be defined before the jumper leaves the aircraft .

I hardly can resist to give comment on some very selective sensitive issue's , I bite my tongue, but its not working !

Nah they just had more luck this time #^{@||´`|&é"'(§è

Pieter,
I did a lot of copy and paste from the rule book to a translator program, and understood most of it.
Is there a website where people post video from the european contest, I guess I should search youtube.
I think Juan is bringing a 55 gallon barrel of orange paint to paint the dropzone at Muncie this year.
Heck, he may just borrow one of the highway line painting trucks, and mark off the size of a football field.
