What a joy it is to get to see the TOP side of models for a change! It creates the impression of looking down in air-to-air photos. So, Neil, how was this trick accomplished? They look like they are in level flight, though I assume they were actually in a slight bank.

Hi Guys - This has been a GREAT thread to watch The only bad thing is thinking about posting pictures after Neil

My brother and I went down to Ft. Collins a few weeks ago to attend the Warbirds Over the Rockies Fly-In What a fantastic fly-in for those of us in the West to be able to attend (only a 6 hour drive ). On Saturday they had 112 pilots registered, so needless to say 100's of photo ops. Vendor tents were plenty and doing a really good buisness (thanks again Rocco).

Here are a few of in-flight pics I took that I thought you might all enjoy.

If anyone is interested in seeing the other 400+ I took which consisted mostly of planes in the pits, detail shots, interest shots, etc, etc, you can see them posted on my little RC Home Page here > Putt's RC Home Page

I have never totaled them all up but I would guess there well over 2 to 3000 pictures spanning the last 10 years from all over the United States.

Anyhow, here are a few from WOTR

Oh my gawd! What happened to that D6? Did it survive that?
Also, I see there were two Pups with the same number there. Confusing?

Was that the 1/3 scale electric or the 1/2 scale gas powered DVI? I saw both planes fly at the Rhinebeck Jamboree in September.

It was the 1/2 scale gas DVI. It got slow on final and drifted off the runway line in a heavy crosswind. Then the pilot's depth perception put the model in front of the bush when it was actually behind it. It took off the wing panel, rolled inverted and went in. Ouch!

Neil,

I just saved the pic of the Pup on my hard drive and set it as my new desktop backround pic. Fantastic shot. They're all great pics.

Okay, I see now. I had heard that it had crashed earlier this year when I attended the Jamboree a few weeks ago on September 10-12. I thought it was odd that the plane sat on the flight line the whole day Saturday while others were flying. The video above was taken late Saturday, Sept 11, after most everyone else had packed up and he had the field to himself. Pretty amazing rebuild after a crash like that in June!

Wow, that's great that he has it rebuilt and flying already - no wonder he wanted to wait till the sky was clear before taking it up again though.

From the recent Louisville Warbird Fly-In.

All it needs is John Wayne in the cockpit!
