Hi eagle09tbl
Great job. Are they combat planes? I like to put landing gear on mine.

Hi Villa,

Thanks for the kind comment. Some of those could be used for combat, but I don't fly combat regularly. Also I do have other spads that have landing gear on them too. It just depends on what mood I'm in that day which birds I take out and fly.

Ahhh, the beauty of spads. Cheap and fast to build plus they fly great !

Hi donnspadbauer
On 2-3-2010 I asked if you had flown your very large twin engine SPAD. I had a much smaller one so I understand some of the challenges. I have not seen your report. Did I miss it? How did it do? Thanks.

Sorry Villa missed the question, She flew very well and I had about an hour and a half of stick time when a landing went bad and I packed her into a loafing shed, punched a hole right thru the sheet metal with a os 46ax. I then pulled the other engine and converted her to a single gasser and added 3 feet to the wingspan. Well, the tail moment was to short and she was a **** to fly so I strpped her down and recycled the parts. Spads are great!

Hi donnspadbauer
Thanks for your report. I just saw it. I am very interested in reading reports on twin engine SPADS, since I had one and had a ball with it, but also many problems. I did report on them though. Reports seem hard to come by on the twins, which leaves me wondering if it is because of bad experiences. When I decided that I was no longer having fun with my twin because I was a nervous wreck waiting for an engine out situation, I converted it into a Pusher/Puller and then the fun started all over again, and never stopped. I posted reports and photos. I wore out the engines and went to the next project. A Pusher/Puller can be very interesting. It is a Twin Engine plane with many of the Twin Engine problems removed. Taking off on one engine was always a thrill. Many times it would not get off. I would love to see more Pusher/Pullers. A natural for a SPAD.

here is my adition to the thread it is a flipper delux but with a twist. the wing is made of blue fff and gorilla glue with a fff and fiberglass spar. the biggest difference is that i made the fuse out of a length of aluminum 90* stock. she flies great and is lots of fun and came out to an all up weight of 3lbs dry with an os 25fx on the nose
