Has anybody flown the sukhoi yet? Thinking about getting one.

I have the Sukhoi with a Magnum 91 4-stroke in it and the Sukhoi flies great, It's like it's on rails but you need to keep the speed up a little on landings or it will drop a wing. I laterally ballenced it before flying so it's not bad at all but does need to keep the speed up. It's my most flown plane.

IronCross, I started with a 15x4 to get good climb and it worked great as a break to slow it down for landing until I got used to it and now I've been using a 14x6 and still has good vert.

WOW
Doorbell rang and I found this big box on my front step.. My new 66 inch Extra was here.. What a beauty... I have been flying the 58 inch Extra and having a blast with it.. It has become my main plane.. Looks like the 66 inch Extra may replace it though.. Can't get over these great flying planes at these prices.. And fantastic customer service to go with the deal... I don't think CW ever sleeps..

This thread is long and sorry if it's already been answered. I have an OS 61 FX and seriously looking to buy the 58". Wondering if I use this engine, will be under powered? If so, does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

I love my VF 66" Extra. But anyone find that if they fly to slow the extra tip stalls and wants to nose over??? Slow speed is ok at stright and level but dont use the ailerons. All throws are to instructions.

My extra never had a problem with tip stall at any speed, How is yours balanced? Mine flew like a fast trainer.

Miloh.

If it always tip stalls in the same direction it might be laterally out of balance.

Try checking that.

Good luck!

Matt 22,

I have an OS 60 FP on my 58" Extra and it is no way under powered. So your 60 FX should be just fine.

Scott, Thanks for the info. Just received it yesterday and I have say I'm impressed. It's certainly one of the better constructed ARFs I've seen. Instructions are weak....and would be hard for a first/second timer. Looking forward to getting this bird up.

Thanks,
Matt

How does the VF 58" Extra 300 perform with the Saito FA 80? Been looking for a long time for an A/C to mount the 80 on. Worried it might be a bit underpowered. I'd appreciate your opinion. Thanks!

A Magnum .80 hauled mine around just fine. Not underpowered at all. Your Saito probably has as much or more power, but you may need another ounce or two in the nose.

Best wishes,
Dave Olson
