Well, I didn't read through the complete thread. I'm a Mechanical Engineer of automation and tooling for mostly the auto industry. We are probably the least respected of all design/engineering there is. Can you guess? I hate it, but too late to turn back now.

My job's on Unisys but I just started doing some IBM stuff this year. Unfortunately, my contract is up this month and my place is also outsourcing stuff to India. I would be eligible to go back in 3 months, but with all the mayhem and indecision going on, I haven't the foggiest what's going to happen.....
I might end up in Detroit next month....
There might be a lot of IT people here, but I bet I'm the only Unisys programmer here..

[TroyP , work for Hampton's do you?
QUOTE]

Ausheli,

I worked for Hamptons here in Broome for 12 years starting as a driver and then working my way up to depot manager. But they sold their freight division to Centurion Transport early last year so I moved over to Centruions.

Troy.

Up until 8 years ago when I retired I was practicing and teaching graduate and undergraduate the Dental specialty of Prosthodontics.. which is oral rehabilitation, reconstruction with the use of partial and complete dentures, implants and fixed ceramic-metal crowns and bridges.

I liked the profession and enjoyed the teaching, but I really love retirement. I can fly anytime I want don't have to fly on the week-ends with every body else....been there done that!!

damn.. There is NO one that does anything even remotely close
to what I do..
If you were smart, you would be calling me when the spousal unit
is bitiching about you spending too much time or funds on plane
stuff.. Heck, I can even get you,, uhhm,, err,, well, you know...
However, with what I do, when charlied123 or his type call, I am
rude, then hang up on them.. ...

(Sorry Charlie, couldn't resist)

"Cheer up Chook"

Being an Automotive Technician "Fancy term for Grease Monkey" of thirty plus years... those Automotive Design Engineers are the scum of the earth in my book.
Now those guy's like "Rodney D." deserve no respect.

The guys that write the operation time rates for Mitchell & Chilton fall right in the same catagory. Also, I want to know who in the hell writes those Warranty times.... his name has to be Flash.

ajcoholic,
You looking for a partner? I am curently working out of a 3 car garage, and worse yet, I have to share it with 2 cars! When I need to work, I move the cars out, wheel out the benches, get a few good hours in, then move it all back.
