Filmed this with an Avistar 40, Go Pro HD mounted on the wing. Crash is around 2:40 if you want to skip to that, view in 720 for best resolution.

Here's more video flying over the sand dunes the previous day.

What camera were you using? Nice video - looks like the camera survived the crash.

Thanks man, I was using a Go Pro HD. Yep, it survived, only the protective case they come with had the lens crack. Here's a link to those cameras, I got the motorsports version.

If you pull the trigger on one, make sure you get the high definition version, MUCH better quality video.

I've been thinking of getting a Go Pro. I'm experimenting with a Flycamone2. Very cool little camera but I find that unless your platform is completely vibration free, the video is kind of wavy.

I also have the flycameone 2 and it is complete junk (IMO). In fact it was mounted on the opposite wing pointing backwards in the crash video. Once again, it failed to record anything but it did survive the crash. Mine would cut off mid flight like so many others experienced and the video quality is horrible. The keychain cams are a much better deal for low end cameras.

The Go Pro HD is 50 times better in all respects. It does weigh quite a bit more but it's worth it. Also, don't get the standard definition Go Pro, make sure and get the HD version. High Definition videos are large files so editing can be a pain if you don't have a fast computer. My laptop is slow and gets the job done but I can't add a lot of effects or it crashes.
