Hi.....

I am planning to use a Morris (Rossi) .53 on a Patriot. Is there a Jett-Stream muffler that will fit the .53? Right now I have a header and pipe for it, but would like something lighter and simpler. Screw-on would be important!

Hi... thanks for writing!

Yes, we have the perfect muffler setup.

The Jett-Stream 40-50 muffler, combined with a Rossi adapter.

The adapter bolts to the Rossi exhaust. Then the muffler is a bolt-on installation (bolt-thru) to the adapter as you are looking for.

Dub is off at the AMA Nationals this week, but contact by email next week, or simply order the parts through the web site.

Order a JS-40 muffler ($49.95) and Rossi/morris .53 adapter ($15).

Let me know how the installation works out.

Bob,

Flew the Patriot on Sunday and the .53 provided plenty of power. The muffler fell off while flying though. Guess I'll just use more Lock-Tite next time.

Hi Beau.....

Thanks for the picture. It looks like a nice installation. Glad the engine produced the power you were looking for.

Did the screws come loose, or did they break ?

About 75% of the time, if the muffler bolts come loose, its from high frequency vibration caused by the prop. Be sure to balance the prop well.

A possible helpful hint....
1) run the engine for a minute or so
2) shut it off
3) re-tighten the muffler bolts when the engine and muffler are still warm

Bob,

Thanks for the advice. I'll try those before I fly it again. The screws that go into the engine were the ones that came loose. Those on the adapter/muffler are still rock solid. It fell off during an aileron roll, so it was sling-shot pretty far!
