Hi Mike...My LHS has some 5475's w/ a mar. 02 date on the box...I thought the 5475 came out THIS year (?) What does the mar 02 mean, and are they as good as the latest ones? Any problems related to the early ones I should know about? I'd like to use them in my Funtana S 40 , but want to know a little more about the numbers on the stickers first...What do they mean? Thanks

That's not the date of the servos but the date of the latest software. In the future they will read V1.03 which is what versio of software they have.

No need to worry, they will work great in the Funtana!

Sure, but they are a little too slow for the tail. I would use the new 5975HB there.

Hi Mike,
How long before they will be sold with V1.03? Will existing Mar 02 servos be upgradable to V1.03? What will the new software (firmware?) do for us performance/programming-wise?

Thanks,
Rusty

I'm sorry I guess I wasn't clear... MAR02 is V1.03. In the future they will be labeled V1.03 instead so people don't think they are old servos.

Thanks Mike,
Nope, it was clear, I just didn't read what you wrote carefully.

I just got one from ServoCity and did a centering comparison test vs. the 645mg for use in a jet (ducted fan). The 5475 won that test hands down. Just for giggles I also tested a standard s3003 - I'll never use one of those on a primary flight control again...ever!

I am very impressed with this servo. The centering is excellent, the speed, precision and strength are all very good and best of all, there is ZERO slop (backlash, whatever..) in the gears.
I plan to put 6 of them on 6 volts in an Ultra Stick for a couple dozen flights or so and as long as alls' well, they will have a new home in my Maverick.

Thanks,
Rusty
