Yeah, it is a sad statement. Unfortunately, I think most people get discouraged and disgusted by the whole process. Nowadays it is hard to seperate the candidates, and then those that have a good idea, are crippled by councils and comittees, legislators and senators who all have their own personal agendas. If the AMA raised their dues tomorrow to $100 and sent out a ballot to get it approved (not that they have to do that), the turnout for the vote would be tremendous. The obvious reason is because there is a DIRECT relationship to the voter's pocketbook. Most don't realize that the smaller issues still effect them tremendously, but becasue it is an INDIRECT effect, they fail to act. When they finally realize the damage that has been done, it is too late, and then it takes a monumental effort to create change. If I remember my science correctly, a body at rest tends to stay at rest, until a force is applied. One day soon the constiutents will wake up and realize what we have allowed to happen to our AMA as well as our country, I just hope it is not too late to fix it.

DocYates,
You are right. It clearly is a sad state of affairs when people BRAG about getting around the rules to "help" us. I swear I heard similar tales comming from totalitarian regimes we all disliked fairly intensly.

In general, the electorate demands a reasonable demonstration of ethics and morals that two of the three official candidates have failed to accomplish with their campaigns and no one knows enough about Moss. I have had two people swear by the incumbent and one by HC and one by Moss. The rest have something else to say with their ballots.

The short answer is very good. Thanks for asking.
