LOL Quarterscale. I am thiiiiiis far away from getting TWO of those Oregon Scientific wireless weather stations. One for my house, and one for the field. I'm also trying to figure out a way to have the club officers get electrical power (or I could use a solar panel/battery supply) to run a PC to interface with the weather station. Also maybe a telephone line, to dial the ISP and post real-time weather data/webcam feed of the flightline, so we can see what the conditions are like from work, or see whos flyin while we are stuck working. Only downside to that, is I'd have to restrict access from my house so my wife couldnt see me at the field LOL.

Maybe a camera at either end of the runway, catching takeoffs and approaches. Man, this could be dangerous LOLOLOLOL. I guess its a good thing that we dont have power there. LLOL

Our field is on a state park that has a "Surf Line" When you call a voice tells you the wind speed for the last hour in 20 min blocks. It tells the low, high and average. I find myself calling every half hour sometimes just to see if I could be out flying.

You might be a R/C addict if you feel more like working on your planes or the flying site than your own house. Sometimes houses can be a real drag.

When you begin to think you live in a rainforest, and start thinking of ways to waterproof your plane, add floats and go. Taking a tarp to stand under.

I dont think it is ever going to quit raining here. My temporary hobby is riding around to look at the floods to see which road is covered the most...

...anytime you're out of town and staying at a hotel, the first thing you do when you get there is check the yellow pages for local hobby shops!

We have a tradition here in canada to try and be the first one to fly in the new year. The last time we went out it was -25f and we had to use lighter fluid to get the glow engines to start!!!

Heck, we had to use 90 proof to keep us from freezing up!!!

Heyyyyy, I do the yellow pages thing, have for as long as i could remember. It beats lookin in the yellow pages for the escort services when ya get into town, like some of the guys i used to work with..... I'd usually spend less money than they did, and get more "satisfaction" out of my "acquisitions", and notc ome home with somethin comet or ajax wouldnt wash off.........

When you have to laboriously drag your aircraft from your house to your car through 2 feet of unmowed grass.
