When you are in the lunch room at work and see someone throw a zip lock bag away, you think "what a waste, I could wrap a receiver in that bag, or use it for something!"

No I dont dig thru the trash to retreive it, .....yet

You toss out a couple of old electric typewriters in the trash, and a fellow modeler rides by and asks " Did you strip out the springs, rods, & hardware before you tossed them?"
Later, the light bulb in your mind starts to glow (dimly), and you quickly dash out in the pouring rain to retrive these hardware treasures, eagerly anticipating all the $$$ you'll save by not having to go to the hobby shop (at least for one day).
Been there . . .

(P.S. IBM Selectrics have LOTS of hardware!)

Status: offline 		I do the same with blenders, can openers, fans, etc... that were made in the metric countries. Tons of hardware for the time it takes to (not so carefully) disassemble.

Status: offline 		You live in an apartment and the master bedroom has 14 equipped airplanes hanging in and the small bedroom has 5 more ready to fly hanging on the walls. You have 6 more on the building table (in the master bedroom) and 5 kits in the living room unopened. Your living room has 9 framed pictures and they are all airplanes. You have two computers and almost every bookmark on both of them is an R/C site. There is so much building materials in your apartment (master bedroom full) that it is behind and under the bed (which is in the spare bedroom). You even put up with all the crap from all your work buddies for buying a brand new station wagon, even though you have no kids. And in following the last couple posts...when you see a bike on a junk pile, you stop and cut out all the spokes for pushrods

Status: offline 		. . . and just imagine what we could do with some of the medical tools and devices . . . latex glove bladder tanks, tongue depressor mixing sticks / hardwood braces, hemostat fuel clamps, syringe epoxy injectors, blood pressure cuffs (as fuselage clamps), tailwheels from medical carts, oxygen tanks to spool up our turbines. . . not to forget those spiffy white labcoats to disguise ourselves for outings to the hobby shop for the "fixes" we all crave . . .

You really know your addicted to rc if you are already planning what to do with psych ward equiptment, in case you gat admitted for the addiction!!!
