Sounds very cool.

. . . and now the obvious question you know someone would ask . . . can my existing superbee be converted to kero start or upgraded for additional thrust?

Eric, will you guys be able to retrofit the kero start system to existing Rabbits?

This is just awesome news!

Socomon:

Yes, but the cost for upgrade from Super Bee to Super Bee II is $650.00. I strongly suggest you wait to the 25 hour service and then request the upgrade. Saves on the labor.

FalconWings:

Yes, retrofit is no problem...We will do this after March 8 to any Rabbits which arrive for 25 hour service. ECU already has software so cost for Rabbit Kero / Gas change update is minimal.

OK thanks. Sounds like only path to kero start on the bee then is by way of upgrade to Bee II.

My Superbee is ready for it's first 25hr. service. How much for the service AND conversion at the same time?

rcguy59:

Twenty five hour service on all LTW turbines is a flat $250.00. Add to this the upgrade which includes major parts changeover for a cost of $650.00 and you have a -0- time Super Bee II.
You save the additional labor if you do them at the same time. You save the shipping as well. The combined savings (labor and shipping) is definately worth it if done at the same time. Also, ECU is upgraded at -0- charge as well.

Eric

I am confused now. Are you saying that if you pay the $650 you get the upgrade and the 25hr service? Sorry - it just wasn't clear to me.

I read Eric's statement as $250 for the 25 hour service (Plus) read "Add to this" $650 for the upgrade for a total price of $900 + shipping for a zero time Super Bee II....not a bad deal at all

I got confused on where the labor savings was on combining the services.

I am wondering now if the upgrade is $650 PLUS labor if the services are not combined.

I may just be thick-headed on a Monday. It happens sometimes.

To convert the super bee to super bee II there are some new parts that need to be incorporate to the engine. This will make it push 16 pound of thrust instead of the regular 14#. Shoot Eric an email for more info.

My guess,(Eric will have to clarify) is that if you were to send a motor in for the 25 hour service you pay $250 plus shipping, labor is included in that price.

If you send the motor in for the upgrade only you pay $650 for the parts plus labor plus shipping.

This is my best guess....

I'm sure Eric will jump in here to clarify

You got it Rich! New compressor wheel, diffuser,NVG, nozzle and sofware update. And you'll get a totally new engine with 0 hours that produce 16 pound of pure juice.

Rabbits don't need this new parts, so price is more forgiving.

Eric's response was not very clear. If the cost to send in a Super Bee for upgrading is $650, as stated in post #4, and the cost for a 25 hour service is $250 then where's the savings if you get charged $900 for doing both at the same time?

By the way, when it's done you don't have a totally new zero time engine. You have a used engine with some new upgraded parts.

One other question for the Jet Central guys:

Does upgrading to the Bee II give any improvement in throttle response as well?

Hello Readers. . .

From the salesman. . .ugh perish the thought.

To upgrade the Super Bee to our Super Bee II has a parts cost of $650.00 plus labor (my oversight) plus shipping to me and back to you. Labor is $200.00. We suggest you wait until the 25 hr service and combine the two services. In doing so, you will save the labor charge of $200 if doing it seperately and as well save the two shipping charges. Combining the two operations is a total of $900.00 plus shipping. Lifetime Warranty in place.

You receive back a -0- time (yes we are saying new) turbine with the following parts changed out:
1. Compressor / compressor nut
2. Difusser
3. Combustion chamber
4. Shaft Tunnel
5. EGV
6. Bearings
7. starter motor
8. Thermocouple
9. Case (can to some of you)
10. Ceramic igniter (new)

We will performance test the RPM sensor, fuel pump, solenoids (if provided) and ECU. ECU software upgrade . Balancing, performance testing three times, clean/polish and ship back to you.

Thanks for the input from each respondent and please forgive my oversight. . .it was not intentional as I thought my post #12 was clear.

Thank you,
Eric Clapp
