miklos -> Quadr engine... what size? (2/17/2010 10:35 PM)

I have a Quadra engine in a Byron P-51 that I recently acquired. How can I tell what size engine it is. What should I look for?
Thanks.

[8|] If I'm correct, it should be either a Q35 or a Q42.

Call B&B specilty's, but here is a quick tip. Older (points type) 35cc and 40cc engine looked the same, but you can look into the exhaust port and count the rings on the piston. 1 ring = 35cc, 2 rings = 40cc. The newer 40cc has 1 ring.[:D] i would be willing to bet that you have a Q35 in it, because that's what was in them for the first few years.[:D] Is is a 1 piece or 2 piece wing?

Same question. Recently aquired Byron P51. 3rd year production? 1 piece wing. How do I identify the engine without tearing it down & measuring.
