how often do i need to change the crystals, and how much are they, or would it just be better to buy a remote that you need to never buy new crystals?

Wow, that is another new one on me. But if it's a good idea to change the crystals in your radio would someone let me know? And how often (if at all) do you need to do this?

I have never heard of anyone changing xtals on a regular basis. Some xtals last a long time, sometimes they may only last a few weeks. I just replace them when they go bad. Hope its not during a race. Just the risk you take I guess.

I still have some radios and crystals that are pushing 20 years old in 75 AM without any problems. Have never had a crystal go bad in either land or air frequencies. I'm sure some have gone bad, but usually after a bad crash etc.
