I'm doing vert hovers with the SPA3D, wind is blowing, gusting to 15-20, all of the sudden it jumps into a tree, I cut the throttle but it keeps running....prop is spitting out leaves, it falls out of the tree still running, so away I go, still flying....so now, I'm laughing my a** off, flying around and another gusts grabs it again, another tree....this time I here the dreaded WACK, crunch, crunch as it falls to the ground. I go into the woods..there it is... NO DAMAGE!!!! Lets see ya do that with balsa!!! SPAD'S RULE!!!

So let me see if got this correct, you can't fly well enough to keep your plane out of the trees, and you're braggin about it? Sorry, couldn't resist. Got 3 coro planes, but I still like balsa better. They are tough birds though, you gotta give em that.

If you saw where I was flying, you would understand. But I balme it on the wind .

Actually I avoided the tree the first few times, but the wind got me this time. After the first "fly threw" the second one was kinda fun.

Timex/SPAD...takes a lickin and keeps on tickin

Next maybe you can submerge it like a submarine and see if it comes out. THAT would be funny to watch!

You should have hit a B@!5@ tree, then you know which would still be undamaged!!!

I think the prototype has been built. I saw a video last year of a Deb on floats that started to take off, and when the pilot kicked in the JATO unit the Deb jumped off of the water, did a half roll, and made the nose-in transition to submersible...

What made it funnier was the audio track...

Blue skies,

DL
