You might try a larger craft store in your area. I don't use foam, I used the provided dividers, and set them up to closely hold the transmitter(s). The leather top tool holder in mine is cushy enough to hold things snug. I'm the only one that handles my case, and it's always handled with great care anyways. If your in need of added security of foam-rubber though, do try craft store.

Thanks, Dale! I will have to check into that. It would be nice to have that added little sense of security.

I got a bunch of these surplus cases made for Texas Instruments at a local Electronics Parts Outlet store for $7.95 each. I couldn't ask for a better fit, and didn't have to cut any foam either.

No prob Pat...now I'm thinking a little more secure won't hurt too. I better add a touch of foam too. Thanks, for the "awareness". I've never had any problem, but "murphy's law" could catch up to me. I sure wouldn't want it to be with my 9C though. I might just pick up another case dedicated strictly to the 9C. I only have one, and store my transmitters in a very safe cabinet at home, and just draw from them as I need. I think I'm going to store my 9C permanently in a new case though.

bkf, I notice you put the TXs into the case with the antenna pointing to the bottom of the case. You might just have set them that way for quick photo illustration, but I've had to remind myself many times not to put mine in like that.

It probably isn't critical if you have tight fitting foam, but I still think TXs are more shock resistant when carried "right side up".

Dale, Im thinking about buying a few more of them myself, Murphy likes to stay on my tail. This is an awesome case for only $20!!! Makes it easy to justify buying one for each trans. I built a big plano field box and the case's feet fit into the grooves on top of the box like it was made for it. Im glad you gave me the tip on where to find it.

Your case looks pretty cool to. Where did you get your grey foam? I havent had a chance to get to the new Lowes yet to see if they have the case too. It looks very similar to the case that Dale and I have.

BK, is the foam removeable. or glued in? I like the rounded looks of that case. Since it comes with foam, now I am going to have to buy one of those too, :

The bottom foam is cut into those 1/2" squares that you pull out to form your cutouts. The top foam is one piece of the bubble / pointed type to cover the knobs and such if you want to. Comes with some of those dividers and a strap as seen in the picture.

Anyone that has ever gone to a sizable fly-in could tell you that Lowe's aluminum tool case (Guardforce, VGC-5200) is very popular at most fields. They normally sell for ~$24.96.

The same case with an RC brand, like Tower Hobbies, sells for more than $44.99. (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p.pgm?Q=1&I=LXL376&P=7)

Watch out for eBay -- they cater to the uninformed. E.G., Harbor Freight's Mini Cutt-off saw sells for around $42.00 on eBay. You can buy them every day from Harobor Freight for $29.99.

I went to JoAnne fabrics and got my foam. This junk is expensive. I bought the cheap stuff and it was $13.50/yd.

Went by the new Lowes, but it doesnt open till May 1st. I am going to get the case from there strictly for my 9c.

I just bought the aluminum case from Lowes for $24.99 and let me say it is worth the money!--Carrying strap, locks, and plenty of room. I currently fly with a
