Does anyone know if the new 9C will mix for crow, such as on the Hangar 9 ultra stick 40? I am going to buy an ultra stick and would rather have the 9c for future projects also.

Hawk,
She sure does. The 9C calls it Airbrake in acro mode and butterfly in glider mode.

The instructions to setup the 9C, step by step, are up at www.futabarc.com/faq/faq-9c.html. just search the page for "aerobat".

Hawk,

As far as I know, the 9C will do exactly what you want. A guy at our club has a 9C and an Ultra Stik and was messing with that "crow" thing. Very cool. The Futaba site has a FAQ with description on how to do this.

Wood did you give your US 40 its maiden flight? If you did how was it? What else does the 9c do for it?

last sunday my instructor took it up, tried the flaps, made sure it was going to stay together, it is very fast, then he took it up handed the controller to me and I made a few laps. I'll let you know more about it after I fly it more this weekend. Cant wait!

The flaps worked very well, he did like that a lot.

Oh yeah, I can couple the flaps to ailerons so I have full span ailerons, couple the flaps to elevator for tight loops inside or out the radio can do it all, I even have a throttle cut set up

Hawk - the 9C will let you do tons of different things with an ultrastik...in fact there is even an FAQ written just for its setup on the 9C page (search for the word aerobat, it is the second one).

Thanks, AnnMarie. Does the 9c come with a case to keep it safe? I have been looking around at some stores for a case that could be used for this purpose (other than the ones offered by hobby shops).

Pat,
No it does not. Gun cases are very popular, as are the Futaba brand cases which are available through your hobby shop.

Wood, will look for your results. I start putting mine together this weekend. I get the plane and Saito 72 tomorrow. Hope to be flying it next month when I get my 9c. I cant wait to get some airtime on mine also. I thought of setting it up with my t6, but I am going to wait.

Ann Marie: Did you ever consider putting up the Futaba Faq's in one page or making a .pdf of the entire thing avaiable. That is my one **** with it. Needing to read through a million questions and having to open a new page for each of them.

AM, I looked for some gun cases, no luck yet. I am trying photo shops now. More than likely I will end up with the Futaba case, or equivilent. Does the futaba case lock?

You can sometimes find radio cases at Lowe's or Sam's. They're sold as Aluminum Attache's. They normally sell for about $30. The case will hold either 2 transmitters or one transmitter and all of your field electronics.

BTW, the 9C is a super radio. I'm very happy with mine.
