Well I just flight tested the 200mw system and it looks good apart from bad lens flare. I will make up a lens hood for it which should make all the difference. Some of the other videos I have seen look like they also have this problem. I will let you know how it works out when it's done.

Cheers, Katipo

Well as you can see by the pic, I made a very rough and ready lens hood which makes the world of difference. It has eliminated almost all the lens flare apart from when the sun is very close to or in the shot. No matter what color the models covering is, because it has a gloss finish it will produce lens flare.
I will post the final design when it's finished.

Cheers, Katipo

Whatever works!
I just buried mine in a EPP sort of pod on my slope glider to both prevent the Purple Flare attack and, hopefully, protect it during slope combat. Didnt have any combat on the slope, but I sure slammed my Scooter nose first into the deck at full speed with no damage to the system.
Checking my latest videos, I see that I need to make a lens hood for the CCD camera too.

A question to anyone who has the 200mw or 800mw system.

How long do you get out of a 9v battery?

I have just gone through my first set and would say that I would be lucky if I got 40 minutes out of them. Is that normal?

Are any of you using any other light battery set-ups?
I will probably use a gel cell for the receiver but I was just wanting to know what the other options would be for the airborne pack.

BTW It all stopped working at around 8.4volts.

Sounds about right. The 800mw tx will operate at 8v but the camera shuts down by then. When the battery goes, the images gets darker and darker, goes black and white then vertical lines form and multiply till the camera quits completely. The tx keeps chugging right along, however!
The camera itself actually operates on 5v but the voltage regulator built into the wiring needs 9v to be able to put out the 5v.
I plan to experiment with Li-Poly packs in the future so I can operate a CCD camera with the Spylinker system and still be light enough for my Super Scooter to carry it.
Unfortunately, my Toyota P/U just bit the big one and its looking like my finances will be directed to my rebuilding the engine.
Joy.

Just found some 9 volt Ni-MH battery's that are rated at 200ma.
I will give them a try for the airborne pack.
I'm also making a voltage regulator so that I can run the receiver from my gel-cell in the flight box.

Fubar-One, Taking your advice from an earlier post and am making up a antenna poll with some 50 ohm antenna cable for the extension.

Cheers, Katipo

Yo!
You dont need to make a voltage regulator for the receiver. It already has one as part of the unit. You can go ahead and run the rx off your 12v gel-cell. Center pin is positive. We run ours off a Sears Diehard lawn tractor battery.
I have several of these rx's from different venders, some labeled 9v, some labled 12v. Ive run em all on 12v. My father took one of the Spylinker rx's apart for ****s and grins and verifed the existence of the voltage regulator. 1 half of the unit is the tuner, the other half is the regulator.
Let me know how the antenna cable works out. I just stuck the entire rx on a pole as the Lazy Man's way. 6' AV cable and a 6' power lead and I was in biz.
