Is it ok to use standard acrylic (Tamiya) pot paints on a PC shell? I'm painting the bumpers and have a can of red PC paint, but can't find a pot of black PC paint.

Also - can i use PC paint on the plastic chassis and detail parts (wing mirrors etc)?

I don't want everythign to melt and/or flake off!

Status: offline 		If your painting lexan then you need lexan paint, or it will break off when the shell bends.

If your just painting your chassis and plastic parts then ordinary enamel paint will be fine. Just make sure that it wont melt the plastic your painting onto..
Obviously the more hard wearing the paint is the better.

It might be a good idea to just paint a small part as a test to see if the paint is strong enough or not.

You dont want your chassis to look ugly with all chipped paint.

Status: offline 		well i painted standard acrylic black around the bottom of the lexan with a brush, but when i sprayed the rest with red lexan paint a few days later it melted the black and smeared it around
I guess the chap at the shop didn't know much about paint.

Anyway, i need to do some cleaning up now. Is there something that will remove both types of paint from the lexan so i can redo the area around the bottom with proper paint?
