My club will accept a printed email. You will have to ask your club about what they will accept.

Depending how you paid, if it is by check, you may have to wait. If it is by credit card, just have them fax or email you something to say you have paid, then place your paper on the frequency board or use it like a card.

I got an email from them saying that it was a temp card for 30 days until my real card arrived. I would assume it is as good as the real card.

The final decision would be from your club though

It is as good as a real card. No one has the right to say no.

The email is probably okay - call one of the officers at your club and check - if the email is not enough for them, there are some additional options:

1) You can have the AMA FAX a written response - that often carries more weight than a printout of an email.

2) You can ask your club officers whether they are willing to check the AMA database (or call the AMA if they prefer) to verify your status.

3) You can ask your club whether they have any instructors who are designated as "intro" instructors. These specially designated people are allowed by the AMA to perform a limited amount of training with people who are not yet AMA members - that may get you by for long enough while you wait for the AMA card.

Bootom line though - call the club first and get the scoop from them.

Regs,
Gordon

The AMA fax has you AMA # on ot your club should accept it. Mine did. I couldn't wait for the card either. It's an addicting hobby.
