Is anyone running this combo? Will realflight run on XP? Do you have to have G2 or will deluxe work?

Thanks
Jeff

Jeff

with a little effort I was able to get G2 and deluxe working on XP Pro and the home addition. All I had to do was update my drivers. As I’m sure you know Great planes/knife edge software does not support XP at this time.

With so my drivers and configurations out there its still "pot luck" to get it working.

good luck!

G2 build 327 runs great on Windows XP build 2600. There are newer builds of G2 available, but I haven't upgraded.

What problems are you having?

Cheers!

I have two versions running on XP Pro with no problems. I did not have to upgrade any drivers. The new interlink works great, you just have to get used to the new buttons if you used any other version (the flaps work on a dial instead of a switch) plus you still get your standard 3 switches. For those on AOL or AOL Instant Messanger look me up at CRCJA@AOL.COM a couple of us will be flying tonight (after 8 P.M. Pacific) with me as the host.

Hey Guys,
Friday my new Dell arrives with XP Pro installed and I bought the GP flight sim with the USB port interface, clue me in on any problems I should watch out for. The PC is in my office, I am a custom home theater/designer, I'm going to use a 100" screen and full surround sound for the SImulator. I won't have to squint when the planes get far away.

What rezolution are you going to run on that 100' screen? And how far away do you plan to sit?

Rez,
I upgraded the video card to a G4 so I should be able to run 1024 by 780, the projector is capable of Hi Def. The seating area is about 12' from the screen, just right.

Her ya go this is my set up.
XP PRO
Soyo P4 FIRE Dragon(Im not a soyo fan But this is a great board)
P4 2.2 GZ
2GB RAM
160 GB UDMA 133 HD
40 GB SCSI 2
NVIDA GFORCE 4 WITH 128 MG RAM (TI MODEL)
VIEWSONIC 21
2 CD BURNERS AND 1 DVD ROM AND 1 40X ROM

There was a catch to get mine running since i have a g2 upgrade from deluxe.I had to install deluxe with only 1 addon, then install g2 and install all the rest of the upgrade addons with the patch, then i had to install g2.Right now with every slider in g2 over to max my frame rate is 76 fps.
It is possible with xp.
Hope this incurages you to upgrade to Xp...........
