Sheesh! I've tried McDaniel, Tower, Hobbico...Most either come apart after too many uses (McDaniel), or the battery fails (Hobbico-shorty). Also, Ive found a big difference in the ease of attaching / detaching the starter from the glo plug -- Twist on/off is my preference. Haven't used the Hot Shots. The best one I ever saw was from Radio South (Pro Driver), but it's kinda bulky with a 1400 receiver battery / LED setup in the case.

What's your favorite?

I've been using my cheapo Hobbico glow driver for over 2 years without any issues... I bought an OFNA starter which takes an alkaline C battery just in case, but I've never had to use it to date...

Radio South unit is a bit bulky, but once you get use to it, the best. I like not having the weight bouncing around on the glowplug after startup.

I second the Radio South unit (with a different glow plug jack), however, the one Marco Benincasa is talking about in the pattern threads looks very interesting as well.

Thanks for the tip on that thread. It looks interesting, but I think I'll stick with Radio South. Is there a different jack available for the RS unit?
