Status: online 		Took advantage of the rare warmish sunny evening in Seattle to shoot a partial coat of primer on the fuse. The Warbird Colors sprays pretty well using a Harbor Freight detail gun. I always like this part. It's fun seeing it all in one color for the first time, even if it does highlight how much work is left to perfect the finish prior to painting. Updated: The WBC primer dries pretty quick. I was able to turn the plane and shoot the other side after about an hour.

Status: online 		Thanks, Bob. I'm pretty clever with the camera to try to hide all the runs and hickeys that I have to fix later. If Chris were here doing the painting we wouldn't have half the problems but he's all busy getting his diploma for a masters degree this weekend and trying to figure out a wedding. His troubles are just beginning. Edited: I meant to say marital bliss is about to begin.

Just thought I'd drop in and thank everyone for keeping this thread alive and thriving.
Tom, yes I have a Mustang now (1st one), but I still have far more Corsairs. Two are flight ready, a third is in storage, only needing a fresh battery and the the Saito .91 re-installed. And then there are several in various stages up building.

Of the 2 that are ready, one is my Top Flite finsihed as a U.S.S. Bennington based 'Pine Tree 1' F4U-1D, which I built a few of years ago and which is pictured in some of the posts.
I AM doing an upgrade to it today: I am switching radios to my new Futaba 10C 2.4 GHz. Turns out it was an easy swap, because the 10C can take date stored from a 9C COMPac memory module and convert it for use in the 10C. The COMPac can then be inialized and used to store 10C data on it, which means I can then use the COMPac as a backup. COOL!
BTW, I was already using all 9 channels on the 9CAP, since all 3 wheels retract, 2 are for flaps, and it has dual Vortac bomb drops.

So, as of today, all 3 of my ready to fly warbirds are on 2.4 GHz. Which means, hopefully I'll never get shot down again (lost my H-9 Hellcat due to some *sshole turning on his Tx while I was flying)

Getting into my first Corsair build, always loved the plane but was never good enough to build/fly it. Great forum, but i do not think I will get this detailed. The main thing I wanted to do was panel lines and rivets. It might be in here but I do not want to spend the time to read through 40+ pages of posts to find out what you guys use. I am not a master builder by any means so what do you suggest. Thanks in advance for any help.

Those are in line of what I was looking for. I don't think these will work for RC plane use though because they have an input voltage of 10 to 14 volts. Thank you though for the suggestion. I'll keep that page bookmarked in case I come across a situation where I need something like that. FInding an electronic actuator is becoming harder than I though. If all else fails, I'll just go with a regular servo.

First of all I don't think there is anything on finishing her on this forum. However, you won't have to look far. First of all, Tom Pierce has a wonderful set of pages on finishing the complete bird from start to finish. I think you can pick up a number of tips from his pages;

These pages are not on a Corsair, so there will be a few differences. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.
