Status: offline 		Has any one used an RCV SP engine in their autogyro / autogiro projects?I posted on another site and only a well made and good looking plane contributed. I have a 60 SP.

I have used an RCV 60SP in a Trainer 60 for some time. Its weight will be a great help in
getting a good "hang angle" on an autogyro. If you haven't run yours, yet, you will find it pretty easy to start
and run. Mine was one of the very early models and has bevel gears rather than helical. So
because of the tiny backlash in the gears it is noisy when running. I believe the 90SP does have
helical gearing. The engine produces tremendous torque, which is great for swinging large
props.

Because of it's torque and power, a fairly large gyro can be accomodated. About the only kit that I can
think of the proper size is the Autogyro Co of Arizona, Kellett. Which is supposed to use a 90 size engine,
but I'm pretty sure that the 60SP would pull it around just fine.
