rear former and rudder servo tray.

I used the supplied pieces as they are very good. I added a little piece under the rudder tray to reinforce it a little bit and avoid bending, I also removed some parts to allow better acces to the wing adjusters. all glued to the fuse with 30 min epoxy and microballoons.

the included former for the ventilation holes, (this former improves ventilation and add strength to the fuse) is made of 3mm plywood, I will replace it with a 2mm balsa with 3/4oz glass on both sides, also I included an extra former made of 1/8 lite-ply to eliminate any twist possible in the fuse. all this is lighter than the original former.

then saved some weigh by reducing the canopy frame on the fuse.

Wheel pants.
the wheel pants are attached by a 8/32 screw that works as the wheel axel, and a 2/56 as an anti rotation screw. all mounted on 1/16 plywood reinforcements.
on the outer side I use 1/8 lite plywood as a guide to the screw.

I have mounted my wheel pants this way for a long time and it is absolutely bulletproof.

I added another ventilation exit hole in the bottom of the fuselage, and installed an extra former to help the air out, this former is just 1/16 balsa.

then cut the servo horn for the rudder and mark the rudder pull-pull cables exit holes and rudder control horn location.

Hello Tuny:

what tool and speed did you use in the mototool to do that job in the servo arm? i've tried that several times and i have problems avoiding it to melt down.

exelente trabajo!!! Gracias!

first make rough holes and then use a 1/16 drill to smoth the holes, this way it wont melt.

rudder finished, control horn installed, holes in the fuse for the rudder cables finished.

now ready to cover and paint, but first I have to work on the scheme.

Very nice Tuny,
Is there a process in which you tape off the fuselage for painting?
Thanks

Wow... What a great thread! I've never seen anyone build a plane like this before. It's evident that there is a lot of building experience at work here. I only hope some day I can do half as well.

Thanks for sharing this project with us!

Sincerely,

Wiz
