I have seen many Thunder Tiger Seamasters fly, and they go very well on a good 46 to 53 two stroke. I flew one belonging to a friend and it handled well and seems suitable as a first seaplane.
I would be interested to hear about the Mariner. It looks nice.
I used to have a Lanier Seabird but it was nothing special. Hopefully the Mariner is a big improvement.

Have an Ace(Thunder Tiger) Seamaster 40. Excellent qualty. Flys great with ST .51. Haven't built or flown anything from Lanier for more than ten years. Can't believe that they can match the quality of the Seamaster.

I have just purchased a Mariner and am almost done constructing it. It is a good kit. I am putting an OS 46 FX on it for power. I won't be able to test it flying untill spring.
I had purchased a Lanier Seabird A couple of years ago. It was a lousy airplane. The mariner is a well built plane .
