Anyone have any suggestions for power for this thing. There are alot of other larger and cheaper engines than the Zenoah 20

I have the older version of the airplane with a G26EI and it works fine but for cost also consider the JC 28.

good luck

Thanks guys, I was looking at the RCGF 20, and a 30 they have, I will be at Top Gun next week and was planning on checking them out at the Troy Built booth. I hadn't heard of the JC 28. I was thinking of a bit larger engine for later projects. I was trying to find something that would fit in the cowl . Have you guys mounted these in the plane?

While you are looking, don't forget to check out the Syssa 30. It is a great small engine made by a company in CT.

I have one and it is a real power house.  It has a single prop bolt so there is no drilling of the prop required.
Rear carb and rear exhaust

This is exactly the plane and engine combo I am considering. Anyone stuff a Syssa in Taylorcraft yet?

You may have to make a hole in the firewall for the carb when using a Syssa

I believe you are correct. The firewall to spinner is one half inch shorter than the minimum Syssa engine recommendation. Todd says he knows of someone who has mounted his engine in the T-craft. I am hoping he will connect me with that owner so I can get the low-down on the installation. This will be the most expensive engine OR plane I have ever purchased. I want to go into this with my eyes open.

RC Aero Prodcuts JC28cc with a Keleo Pitts muffler (mufflers are now sold by VQ Warbirds). The standoffs are 3" long and made by Keleo. Good performance with a Xoar 17X8 sword prop in silver.
