Yeah that belongs to a guy on HBF. The build is quite impressive.

neat with the nitrous and such, but with only 9k invested, probably nothing stock except for some bolts maybe (so no point in adding in a stock hpi unit price as he probably re assembled a stock baja after this build was done) and 4 months of build time? you can never count in time when building something for yourself. and at the bottom it says for the 10K it will have free shipping.

still 10K for that.......maybe 6-7k at most.

only way he'll get any decent money back is to part it out, 4 mths building 4 hrs stripping it back down again.lol
He might get 65-70% back of his original investment...don't think there's many folks out there, if any, that'll stump up 9 or 10k. can't imagine it took 4 mths to build...that's a lot of man hours...must be a union job maybe 3 months and 28 days in postage time for all those parts and 2-3 build time

One of the things that attracted me to quarterscale is that they are investment grade RC. I used to be HUGE into small scale (1/12-1/5 scale) and I got sick of spending 1-4k on a RC car to enjoy it for a year or two and then having to beg someone to buy it for $200-$300. Of course there are some exceptions, but they are limited to very old models and are not all the models from that era, just select ones. Something like this MAY be worth 10k TODAY. But 6-10 years from now, it wont be worth more then $1000. That has to be one of the most frustrating things with RC for me.

I spent $5000 on this truck. Put a new 383 400+HP engine in it, Electronic Fuel Injection total cost well over 15K+(not counting labor. It was built completely by myself). Sold the truck on ebay for $5,000 to pay for a fence when I got married. Only had the truck a couple of years.

RC cars and most vehicles are a depreciating asset unless they are very rare.

Wonder what that car would list on Kelly Blue book for?

Agreed that would be nice for a Hobby shop window but thats about it. I would never run it. Plus half the fun is in building it for me anyway.
