Sorry I haven't talked with him in a while, but I hope to get up with him this weekend.

Thanks......no big deal, but I am kinda waiting to hear before I pour in the weight with epoxy..............LOL

Thought about maybe making it removable in case I change engines and or sell it and the new owner wants to.

I do not have a G-62 in mine but I have a Super Tigre 4500 in mine. The big Tigre weighs 79 oz. approx. 5 lbs. and I moved my battery pack in back of the tail wheel opening to get it to balance . I 'am not sure but the G-62 may be almost the same , you may have to move your ignition battery back farther and your flight pack back where I placed mine. I 'am going to build another one with a DLE-55 in it and I suspect that I will need nose weight unless I move the batteries forward to balance. Great flying plane , I flew mine this past weekend at our WAR-Bird event and a lot of people were shocked to see how great the SUPER TIGRE pulled it.

good luck
thanks bob

I just finished mine. It is equipped with a DLE. Balance point is 1/4 inch behind the recommended starting point, which is still 1/8th inch ahead of the rear-most recommended balance point. I'm fine with it at this position.

Lokking forward to the maiden but there are 3 other untried newbies ahead of it. Should be a great flying season!

Did you have to put any weight in to balance?

No weight added. I used 2 batteries plus ignition. One of the packs is attached at the trailing edge area, the others are near the c/g. Switches, charge jacks, and air valve are on the bottom behind the cockpit.

Here is mine with a G-62. Relocated the carb to the rear and it is electronic ignition. No cutouts in the cowl. I moved my battery back and had to add a fair amount of lead in the tail to balance. I made the lead removeable in order to fine tune it. Flys great and lands very nicely.

What muffler did you used to get it all in the cowl?

Cut my cowl up pretty good due to useing Bennent side mount.
Knew that going in, had the muffler.

Mine 62 is magneto, only battery I have to move back would be for RX.

I will probably glue in weight this weekend.

Thanks for the replies.

It is a Jtec. www.jtecrc.com  They make them custom to fit in the cowl.  Works great!

Sierra makes them in several lengths. www.sierragiant.com  Makes is a lot easier to fit everything in the cowl.

Has anyone used different wheels on this bird? i dont like the ones that came with it..  Also is the 24 oz tank big enough? How much flight time are you getting.

A 24ozs tank is good for about 13 minutes with a G-62 at full throttle. My Mustang now has a 32 oz it it.

I bought a 32 oz tank for it. but it will require some mods to get it in. I guess it will be worth it.

Just painted my three blade spinner and prop...dont use the missile red paint from top flight...get a can of rustoleum cherry red...it goes on very smooth and matches very well. If you want a superior finish then use the rustoleum grey primer first.

Finally got to test run mine this weekend. Almost ready to test fly. Found that my Robart fill valve is leaking, so I have a new one ordered, and waiting on my pilot. Won't be long now!

Thanks!!  Im close to finishing it up. really want to put the 32 ounce tank in. Im using a DLE 55 and ive been breaking it in using the 32 oz tank and she runs for a long time. i followed your postings
your bird turned out nice. how does the DA 60 do? bet shes got tons of power. How does the stock wheels hold up? Ive been watching people fly them on u-tube and seems like they bounce really
easy. i was wondering if the hard foam was cousing it?

NO GLUE....I used screws because I like to remove the canopy when needed. I use the canopy glue on the screw threads to hold them against vibration.

Hope to get to fly mine this weekend. The DA 60 and 22/12/3 prop seem to be a good combo. This thing pulls like a horse. New fill valve came and is installed, still waiting on pilot. I ordered him off of ebay on the 6th of this month and 21 day later I still haven't got anything. I hope I'm not getting hosed on this deal. It is one of the Dragon P-40 pilots. Did any of you guys have to modify the Dragon pilot to fit?

The Dragon pilot fits fine. its more of an issue getting it to stay in place. and keeping the body parts from moving around. I snaged one off ebay myself. missed the
first two. it was about the same time period. must of been bidding aginst you.. lol
