Just wanted to cast a line out there and see who might be around town flying jets now that summer is just around the corner.

Cheers!

I have a jet! I don't fly it yet though...hehe..

Do you know about the Tri-Valley R/C Club in Rosemount? I was a member a while back, they fly jets all the time there.

I live in Plymouth so I fly at Grassfield R/C in Brooklyn Center for now..at least until I have my turbine ready to fly and need to get my waiver.

Pm me your number if you want and we can get together.

Chris

Three years ago I was a member at Tri-Valley...mainly with the purpose of getting into turbines. Great location and runway btw. Then I started my business and there went all the time...all of a sudden the drive from Plymouth made it almost impossible...even if I had any time off which I didn't.

Now everything is up and going but I drive about one hour each way every day so the drive would still kill me on Saturdays. I will however have to go there to get my waiver probably so we might see each other. I just can't make it my "every weekend" field, too far.

Who do you recommend I contact for the waiver? I need a waiver holder and a CD waiver holder so I can get my flight in but would like to fly at least a few times with a buddy box so I can get comfortable. The plane isn't ready yet but will be in a month or so so I want to start arranging for this.

Thanks in advance and very nice to meet you.

Chris

Hello,

I fly turbines (F18f, F22, Kingcat and A10) in Rochester, MN. If I can be of any help please let me know and I would be happy to help with buddy box etc. I am not a CD but we will have a turbine CD present (hopefully) at the Minnesota Jet Rally in August at the Rushford Municipal Airport (Minnesota Jet Rally 2010 thread on RCU).

I used to belong to TriValley but it is an hour for me too, so I tend to stay at my field or at Rushford.

Hey Dave,

Have you guys been out flying yet? Let me know when you go out and I'll make the trip down there.

Cheers!
Chris

There is a turbine CD at Tri Valley, and I think it is Cal Branton if I remember correctly. I can find out for sure if you are interested.

I am getting my Facet, Cyclone, and Rafale ready for another season of flying so I will be at Tri Valley once in a while.

Just recently we relocated to the Twin Cities area and I am wondering whether Tri Valley is still the place to go to fly jets?
I fly a C-ARF Spark with a Wren 44...

Hi Roger,
I live in Rochester and don't fly up that way much since the Tri Valley field was lost and disassembled with the runway.
We do fly jets in Owatonna on a mat surface (smmac.com) and I fly my jets at Marionrcflyers.org field, which is grass.
I am sure that some other folks with more information about the cities area will chime in.
Happy to have another jet pilot in the neighborhood.
Dave
