I wanted to say thanks to the Sacramento Club for giving me all those cuts...just kidding.  I did that all on my own.   Seriously, thanks to the club, the helpers and all the participants.  Great show.   I finally got to meet some new friends and see a bunch of old friends. I would like to also thank all the sponsors who supported the race.  Great Job everyone!!!!

The event had 7 Bronze, 22 Silver and 19 Gold Pilots.  Total of 48 people.   Great turnout.  Now only if we could get all you guys to the South Bay.   The Bay Area had 10 entries total that participated.  Maybe with the promotion from this race, that will increase.   I was very happy to know that our Stock Warbird class with the VQ/WOrld Models with the O.S. 75's broke out in Silver barely.  I think minus those cuts, we have 2 minutes planes all days.  With a couple cuts, I consistantly was in the 1.56-1.58 range.  The Blue Corsair was flying well.  Just need a new pilot.

I took some pictures that I will be posting throughout the day.   I tried to get pics of most of the planes.   There was some nice planes.

Thanks again

Daang Kevin,
You're working fast to get those images up!
Nice shootin with that camera.
I didn't do the individual planes as you did. Thanks for that.
The shots I have are from what Ollie (Dr. Death), and I could catch on the ground and in the air.

Lots of great fast racing on Sunday. I had great time mixing it up with the Miss Ashley II. Thanks for putting on the race.

Hope some of the guys come down to the races in the Morgan Hill. Our Unlimited class is the same speed range as the Gold racers, so many would fit in well.

Michael

Dang Kev, is it all you do to post pictures on RCU while at work!

All I will say is at least I can enjoy and nice juicy tasty bit of steak with all the trimming.

I am glad you got my Candyman on take off rather than (bad) landing. I have decided before the next race in August I am going to spend some time landing on a model runway rather than a full scale runway so I can get practice. I have got so lazy with my landing.

James

I too had a good time, but it was a LOOONNNNNGGGG day. I was up at 4:30AM and didn't get home until 8:30PM or so, 5+ hours on the road.

I have some homework to do before I race my 140 again. Something is just not right with it. Before this race I THOUGHT something was not quite right, now I KNOW. It's going to be a few months before I'll be able to race again, so I've got time to figure it out.

It was great to finally meet all of the guys that I have talked to: Jim, Ollie, Tim, Chuck, Sergio, Steve, Ray. There are more I just can't think of right now.

Kevin, yeah, I lost a few more follicles yesterday. I'm glad you took it in stride.

James, after our races at Madera SAMS runway is like a carrier landing. A lot of the pilot were working hard to make my landings look good. I think I finally had the procedure down with this one, shut it down on the downwind leg at about 200', keep the nose down and make my turn, level out at the threshold and let it settle in on its own. I had three landings yesterday that I would consider smooth, one was OK.

Overall the pilots showed a lot of skill. There was some tight racing in my heats, yet I didn't see that many close calls.

I think I had one of the best times in racing yesterday! I guess all the smack talk I did helped me out alot. My wife Kim called for me and she did a great job calming me down cause this was my first silver race and I was nervous! I only entered silver cause Tommy Gun called me out. I'm glad I did though. Everything was great from the bar-b-que the night before, the friends, and the racing!

My bronze class was alot of fun! I felt I had to get out there and try to win the whole thing to redeem myself for the horrible job I did at the last race. Marcello's daughter Bianca didn't make it easy on me though. She did a great job and will be a threat to any bronze racer in upcoming races! I ended up with 1st place for the day and couldn't be happier!

My silver class made me nervous but my wife was right beside me calming me down. She's really good at doing that! I didn't know what to expect but I knew there were alot of pilots in silver and all of them have done it before so I felt out of my leaque. Teddy Bear were tied in points ever race! I couldn't get rid of the guy! Someone came up to me and said congrats, you and Teddy Bear made the A main. I thought he was kidding around but I really did. Unbelievable! We raced in the A main and there was no catching Steve Brown. He had a perfect score for the day. Teddy Bear and I battled till the last lap for second place and I got him on the last lap to come in second. I got second for the day and I still can't believe it! Thanks for all the great racing Teddy Bear.

All in all it was a fun day! Thank you to the cd's and workers and friends. Can't wait to see you all in August!

Blah, Blah, Blah, I got first in Bronze.
Blah, Blah, Blah, I got second in Silver.

Stop texting and driving Casey! You gotta get those doors to the Mendo Mill in one piece .

Congrats on those, you did a good job. It was fun to get up there and mix it up with everyone in the Bronze class. I got some video of the Gold final race that I took. So I will post it later, when I am not teaching .

The food, drinks, and getting together was stellar as usual. Those that dont stick around the night before are missing out for sure. Had a great time and will see everyone back on the battlefield in August.

So Kevin, Chris and James, will a lot of your group be making return trips for future races?
We hope so, it was great to have you all make it out for this race.
It was nice to see no midairs. Even so, there were a few planes lost as can be expected in this sport.

I am sorry to inform you that the silver 190 was not that badly damaged in my off field landing. It will be repaired and back for the next race.

So Tommy with your new found love for P51 Mustang will you be flying the FW190 as a back up? You sure did fly that Voo Doo pretty. I wonder if any one got some photos? I just have one question...... Will you be getting a new shirt made - Mustangs are like belly buttons..... everyone should have one?
