I have two OS91fx motors and was having simular problems and here is the fix.One motor is mounted on a hanger 9 P51.Here's the real problem with this motor VIBRATION. I switched to a rubber engine mount. The fuel tank must be wrapped with plenty of foam and totaly isolated. I mounted the motor on its side and am running a Bissen Pitts muffler.Powermaster 15% fuel .APC 13/8 prop. I have flown the wings off this plane for 2 years and the motor has never quit and the plane halls ****.I have tried the K&B needel valve on my other motor and it helped with the air bubbles but the real problem is VIBRATION . I also had the same problem with the 160FX and used the same fix now all motors run great and are very reliable.

Man, that is the one thing I didn't mess with is vibration. Tried just about everything else. Ended up sending one back to OS and selling the other. Haven't replaced them yet but am going to have to do that soon. I miss flying my shoestring. Also still have to find good reliable twins for my Super Duellist. Probably try something like the Irvine .72s or MVVS. Glad my little 46 fx engines don't have that problem. Least I can fly some of those planes.

Nope, even tested it on the bench with a different tank at one point, produced the same results. Ended up writing off the engines. Won't touch another one. Too bad, would have really like to use them. Oh well, others will work.
