I'm kind of a novice to r/c boating I've had a couple of those Nikko ones for like 8 year olds. But i want a nice one that goes plenty fast but can handle well. I have now narrowed it down to two boats. Either the Aqua Jet or the Grey Thunder. Which are both made by Cen which is a brand I favor alot because you can get a 775 right off the bat. So which boat and why? thanks for your help!

I just experienced a similar quandry. I really like the turning ability of the Grey, but it has a u-joint drive system which I wasn't very fond of in my Villain. I order a Jet 775 yesterday to replace my Villain.

Talk to Steve at: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/

He just set me up with a used Jet at a great price.

I love my Aqua Jet. I did the upgrade to a graupner 700BB turbo and it screams with 14 cells. I recommend the turn fins and take your time setting them up. Turning is about the only problem with it. Also, buy the flex shaft. The ball joint thing disintegrates instantly and is awful. I just bought a Finedesign SS1 and dropped it into my Aqua jet, but the run times are pathetically short. Need to research this more.

IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A FAST ELECTRIC BOAT--[TRAXXAS-VILLAIN 4] WILL SUPPRIZE YOU. BOUGHT THE BOAT PUT IT IN THE WATTER RIGHT OUT OUT OF THE BOX AND IT DID WELL BUT FOUND IT A LITTLE SHORT ON RUN TIME. I BOUGHT THERE SPEE SHAFTS AND PROPS- IT WASNT MUCH. AND GOT SOME MORE SPEED OUT OF IT . I ADDED FOR LONGER DURATION RUN TIME TO 9 CELL [10.8V 3000 MAH. NIMH PACKS] AND IT GOT SO FAST I HAD TO RE TRIM THE PROPS AND ADD TRIM TABS. ONE OF THERE TECH AT TRAXXAS TOLD ME THERE COMING OUT WITH EVEN A HOT ELECTRI BOAT. HAVE FFUN --SID.
