I'm looking to by a Sim, from the tower catalog. It seems like I will be going with the RealFlight G2 Lite since it is 70 dollars cheaper than the regular Real Flight G2. I would think that having 10 planes to choose from, 3 flying sites, and 3 skill levels will get me more than enough stick time in before I buy a trainer and start with an instructor at the club. Any comments or opinions about the G2 Lite.
Thanks, Tim

ever thought abt the reflex? just a guess since you were asking. less fancy grafx but lovely photo model designs and real good simulations. also from TH and hobbico. easy to install and not so many probs.

I don't really know to much about sims, I just found the RealFlight in the tower talk catalog. How much is that one, and does it come with the transmitter also? If it is what you use, how helpful has it been when you fly your trainer?

Thanks

Has the RealFlight been known to have a lot of problems with it?

I, like you ,thought the lite was the way to go because of the $70 saving. If you are having fun and/or using it for training and are spending time on it......
GO THE $70.......
You won't be sorry.....like me...

Thanks for the response Phil, but could you maybe tell me why you are not happy with the G2 lite. Again, I never play video games and I'm only looking for a sim to give me stick time and some training/familiarization with a plane and radio before I take the next step. Thanks, Tim
I'm going to ask this question in the beginners forum to see if I get any more responses.

In short, The G2 Lite is litteraly the stripped down version. Its kinda like the tale of two Camero's. The two car's look the same but one has the V6,bench seat, auto trans, AM radio and heater only. The other has V8, buckets, 5 speed, AM-FM-CD radio and heater with air conditioning.
They both work and both do a good job! The 2ND just had MORE of everything. Planes, airports and most of all--additional graphics and controls so that you can change most everything you can think of on it. Also LOTS more add ons! Check KNIFEDGE.

My $ .02 worth!

I agree with Phil. I own Lite (bought form Ebay) and figured I'd save some cash. Well now I am looking for the upgrade and gonna have to shell out 80.00 for it.
The full version comes with more planes, more features, more everything.
If you plan on training, then selling it, go with the Lite. I did at first, and now Im kickig myself in the hiney for now going all the way.
I really want to download new planes, and cannot with lite.
