Back from the 3rd CARF-Models meeting in Kehl southern Germany, a 1025 mile round tip. Great company, good food and beer plenty of flying for me with 8 models taken. The idea of the weekend is a chance to display new models and let potential customers fly on a buddy system any CARF model. I used my Hawk and Spark mainly, but people flew all sorts including a Tucano...Colin ;-)
More info soon I need to take my little girl bowling!!

The trip started early Thursday morning for three of us, at the very last minute a fourth decided to join us...that where it started to go wrong, we were booked on a tunnel crossing under the channel and met up fine, but in deciding to split into two groups of two one of my team got out of the van, on the train as we arrived at Calais with the idea of waiting for the other car behind...don't do this as they can go out another exit and you end up locked in a train going back to England and get arrested and put in the dog pound
The story is a long one but we did get him back eventually!
Arrival thurday PM allowed the Tutor to be test flown and a little more flying before heading for the hotel and a local Pizza resturant to listen to Frazer Brigg's stories!
Plenty of flying during the three days, but rain messed up periods of the day...except for the Habu and Squall flying which I continued constantly.

Dave,
Looks like you all had a great trip.
What's the chances of comp ARF ever doing an Electric Lightning - may stand a chance of getting one then ?

What a cool event to have a chance to see. I was in Germany on business and with a little web searching found this event and it was within a short drive so I dragged my co-worker along and dropped in. Was nice to meet some of the guys and see how modeling is approached in Europe. Sure gets a lot of support from the local clubs and public.
Cheers guys - nicely done. Too bad the weather wasn't more co-operative.

Wow, I didn't even know that there was a CARF meeting a few hours driving from where I live. Would have loved to chanse to fly some of their models (flash, lightning). Still have a eurosport 3D universe that needs assembling lying on the shelves.
Hope they do it again next year and that I'll be able to attend.<br type="_moz" />

2nd year at that location. Local laws may mean a change for next year to allow more time flying I/C and Turbines.

As Dave said it was a great weekend just like last year. Shame about the rain showers but the UK pilots kept the show running with electric models being flown nearly all the time.

The idea of the event is that you can turn up, register and then fly any of the Comp-ARF models on a buddy system with one of the reps who were at the event.
Dave getting ready to buddy up on his Hawk.
Colin with his new toy after having a flight with it on the buddy system.
Mig 29 with fireworks!
