"Zagi" is a product family, mfg. and sold by Trick RC, but is commonly used to refer to just about any flying wing. The Zagi family includes the following models:

400 - Basic 48" wing. Small bat, short flight time.

400X - 48" wing with 1700 MaH battery - the most typically seen at the field.

Razor - 36" wing, all EPP. Same power as the 400, but smaller. Fast, but really twitchy, and not as good a glider.

3C - 48" all EPP glider, but converts well to powered flight with the standard 400 series trays and your choice of motor.

The 400 and Razor typically go for about $109, and the 400X $135, and the 3C about $65.00. All but the 3C come with motor, one battery and a speed controller. You provide two micro servos (HS81's or similar) and an RX.

There are also other brands that make nice wings - Combat Wings come to mind, although there are others. costs are pretty similar for most when everything is considered.

Just about everybody, including Tower has them - they are really common. Call Mike's Hobby Shop in Dallas (www.mikeshobbyshop.com) if you are interested in a pre-built one. They don't list them on the Web page, but have them in the store, and can ship if you call.

I get a kick at the Zagi site ,their description of SCR nicad cells (Either very expensive or unavailible) come on guy you mean you dont sell them rite?If you want some cheap thrills with a wing go buy a wattage cobalt motor29.99 and some panisonis 1400scr 6 cell paks 10.00 bucks at Hobby people .I myself jig these into 8 cell packs for 200 watts of cheap FAST, FAST fun.Zagi is a very suportive company but for a good cheap STRONGER wing check out wind riders Bee it is cast and not cut EPP foam stronger than cut foam and no messy glue is needed .witch is way cool if you ever want to recover your wing .Have fun.

Go for the 400X. It's the best Zagi. The carbonfiber spar realy adds strength.

I've flown mine through a barbed-wire fence before. I ran out, picked it up, tossed it in the air, and continued flying.

FUN AIRPLANE

If you want a true adrenaline rush, try the Razor.
One of my flying field buddies let me fly a modified one with a brushless motor.
To me, a sport flier, I felt I was piloting a 200 mile per hour diamond dust. The only plane I have seen that has a faster scale speed is a the 200 mph hummer. Once you move the aileron stick to the full, the zagi becomes a blur. Sure, it's twitchy, but that's the whole point of the razor. And wind doesn't even affect it. It cuts through the wind like a "razor" If you are an experienced flier, you should have no problem. The other zagis must be slower (I haven't flown them) but if you're looking for an adrenaline rush, this is it.
Just my .02

I told you, it was quite a rush. It did 60 or 70 mph.

Best Price I have found is Quantum.com - Why, cause they ship freight free on any thing over 100.00 dollars They sell the Zagi 400 kit for 109.99 thats with a 500 mil battery - with that set up you can get in some pretty long flights 10 minutes plus - if you can find a thermal you can hang in there for longer than you want to look up. Zagi X comes with a bigger, hotter battery - but hey its a lot heavier - with the glide ratio of an f4 Phantom. I like to fly slower longer - thats why I perfer the Zagi 400 kit,

Now is the time to mention that 3M Super 77 Spray Aerosol Adheasive IS NO LONGER SAFE FOR USE ON STYROFOAM. WHY, IT NOW CONTAINS ACETONE. 3M changed the product to conform to some new EPA rules. If you can find an older can of the stuff - the first thing listed is CYCLOHEXANE - thats the older good stuff - the new stuff has acetone and it will melt styrofoam.

Point of all this is if you buy a Zagi and you want to cover it the way they say, using 3M supper 77 - you gotta find the glue and it aint cheap. I found a 2 oz can in a craft store for 4 dollars. the last one they will ever have.

I enjoy reading what all you Guys have to say and what I have just written above is what I have read at Trix.com and Eflight or wherever it was I was, I been so many places ready about flying wings I forget where I been, Whew. Thanks for listening

No motor, speed controller, or other electronics/prop/battery/coverint tape/etc. just the wing. The Zagi kits come complete, so the $25.00 is a great price for a wing (Zagi cores are, IIRC, about $45.00) but you will still need to get the rest of the stuff to make it flyable.

Oh, and I guess I am mad too. I am flying a Razor with a Mega 16/15/4, on HECell 1100MAH packs, and it flies GREAT! That and my Zagi 3C on a Mega 16/15/3, which will also turn a few heads. Got the need for speed . . . . .
