i need some help i have a Tl-01 that i use for backyard bashing. everything i spretty much stock except for an esc, 17T motor, and bearings. i am currently using a NiCD 1500mah battery. i am Looking at getting a new battery and charger. i have pretty much narrowed down my choices for a charger as well as a batteries.
here is what i have :

i can get 2 2400mah Power Maxx NiCD batteries(53) and a intelipeak Charger with discharger (55) for $122US

Or

I can get Sanyo 3000Mah and a Duratrax Digital Pirahana charger for 105US(w/1 battery) or 140US(w/2 batteries).

what whould u choose ?

i am pretty open to any new suggestion. on where to buy batteries and charger but i live in canada so international shipping will increase the price.

i am so open to any offer for used stuff as well.

If its just for fun not racing then id go with the nicads and get two or maybee 3 packs.

That way you will get more runtime.

The sanyo 3000's may have a bit more voltage (punch) but you wont notice in the backyard.

personally I think going to your local racing club and buying a few second hand packs may be a better deal.
What a racer thinks is no good will probably be fine for you as long as there are no dead cells.

I would go with the 2400mah NiCD for bashing. They seem to be the most durable cells i have used. If you want to go the NiMH route though i wouldn't get any 3000's, get some 3300's instead. And personally I am a fan of buying second hand stuff for the lower price, but I never buy used batteries because you just never know what condition they're in until you've used them a few times.

I just got this charger a few days ago and so far i like it.

doesn't get hot like the MRC Super Brain 959 that i have, but it does'nt have all the program stuff, and it does'nt have discharge, but i run all Nimh batteries, and charging two at once give me and my son more track time in backyard

Four radio shack 3000mah around $30 each, and four Megapax 2400mah from local store, forgot the price
