You may be right, however I have a 72" World Models P47 with a 50cc gasser in it (was told I was insane doing that!) and it the best plane I own. So nice to fly with all that vertical, but only 15 kph faster flat and level than a glow powered version.

Hell, I only do this stuff so the fun police have something to whine about...

Well now that I have my new set of wings( I broke my other set) I have nearly fininshed them.

The new set up has gone from Tube to wooden spar. I decided to pin the spar in and not go for the normal way and I feel quite happy with the outcome.

Some pics

Did you epoxy the spar into the outer wing half and use the pin to hold it together?

I hacked open the cowling, and can access some of the engine at the field.

Choking it with my finger, for example.

I permanently epoxied both outer wings to the center section in that I mounted a radial engine in the plane that weighs a lot.   I wanted to make sure the outer wing skin was contrubuting to the overall wing strength and it was easier to assemble.  I can deal with a one piece wing that size.  Sometimes I just don't trust the Chinese engineers.

Dbp7966, you have drilled a quite large hole in det absolute weakest point of the whole wing.....

Hope it goes well for you, though.

If you regret it later on, you might consider to at least laminate to front and aft of the beam with fiber-glass.

Just my honest opinion, dont take it too hard. No offense intended.

Hello there again Nudger!

I adjusted all valves according to the manual after 3 flights.

Also put the dummy radial in place. All these things takes time.

But that is all right. It is a hobby.

I fixed the spark plug gaps too. Forgot it now. hehe.

I am still waiting for a new ignition box from octopus RC. Original too expensive.

Ordered it 2'nd january. Still not here. Customs being slow, me thinks.

http://store.octopusrc.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=122

Maybe you have the same problem as me? One spark allways okay, the other intermittent,
and not working as soon as plug is mounted.
