 Wow is right. Do you know the all up weight? Get your local machine shop to turn a big steel prop nut for you.

I just checked my balance using the Saito FG-57T engine and found out I will need approx. 59.6 oz. up front including flight and ignition batteries. Checked with landing gear up. Wow!

That is 3 times more than me. FG-57 as well.

On the ice today;

Here;

The colors are different in daylight; Its the flash doing most of it.....although my "home-paint" is much more matte, than the
factory paint...

Retracts and wheels are in! Made up track plates for the olios as the ESM stops are crap and slowly let your legs get longer resulting in the U/C jamming up. Not a great idea.....
Replaces all the bolts so I could get the wheel closer to the leg - and the stock ones are made of cheese. New 6mm bolt for wheel axle too.

Next was cowling. Pretty standard except for my patient lock screw system using nyrod inner to stop the cowling screws from vibrating out...

Then time to bolt that monster motor in the nose.

Yep, its tight! The plug caps will stick out so I will have to split the cowling so I can get it off - no biggie.

Yer, I like to have a little in reserve when I fly.

Interesting to note, The full size corsair runs 2000 hp at a flying weight of 8980 pounds for a rating of 0.22 hp per pound. The super corsair had 3800 hp at almost the same weight so was rated at 0.42 hp/lb. Mine will be 11 HP at 25 pounds for a rating of 0.44 hp/lb so almost the same grunt as a Super Corsair... Makes you think eh? Some mad bugger strapped on a piece if aluminium powered by almost 4000 hp and flew it around? Suddenly I feel almost sane....

True. The numbers I have quoted really mean very little. Its just a interesting comparison for when people say I over power my planes. I cant find out what thrust specs the twin wasp produces in a Corsair. The DLE will give me 25kg @ sea level on a 27 x 10 prop. 25 kg! Thats 55 pounds! over twice what the plane will weigh. Pretty sure even the Super Corsair didnt have close to that thrust to weight. However it does have stacks or momentum that models just cant have. The extra thrust should mimic this...

A scale plane can typically fly at 1 hp/10lbs. So you have a rocket. Not to mention flutter and extra air frame stress thats a real potential. Good luck.

Its OK guys, I'm qualified...
Luckily I have installed a devise that leats me vary the power output of the motor at will. I can always use this to reduce the thrust and therefore speed/loading on the airframe...

 Got the Evolution mounted today.Put 3 degrees of thrust in it.The cylinders and intakes had to be loosened to get the Keleo exhaust on but it went well.A little sketchy getting all seven manifolds started without cross threads.

Plus you get to run a big nice scale size prop. That 111 should be able to swing a 26" 3blader. COOL
