Hello, I'm Eric Balay, the Moderator for the R/C Aerial Photography forum. I suppose that my first job will be to change the title to "R/C Aerial Photography and Videography" as many folks are also into aerial video these days.

A bit about me: I'm 30, married with kids, and live in Denver, CO. I started flying rc airplanes in the early 80's, and have flown helicopters exclusively since 1990. I enjoy 3D flying, scale, and attending fun flies. I am a Controls Engineer in the HVAC industry.

I am not an expert in the field of aerial photo/video, but do have some experience. I welcome the opportunity to hear from others!

I have had experience with flying a Vario Benzin camera heli, with onboard video and downlink. Years ago I experimented with putting a micro-sized 110 camera on my CG Eagle trainer, and had fun taking pictures. It was difficult to aim the camera - it was pointing sideways towards one wingtip.

Please feel free to introduce yourselves to the group!

I have been asked by Michael Kranitz to be a moderator on this forum. I am an easy going guy who isn't here to make things difficult for anyone. I do not have the time to babysit this forum every day. So, here is what I expect from you:

-Try to keep the discussion on topic of aerial photo/video.
-I will have to delete posts if they are inappropriate.
-If you have something for sale that is related to this forum, please feel free to post it here.
-Please contact me if you have any concerns about the forum - I will do my best to help!

And, most importantly...

-PLEASE join in the discussion and share with the group - we're all here to learn.

-Eric Balay
