Anyone out there have any experience in building / flying the Spectra II, Plan #465, Issue 7-71 ? This is one futuristic looking bird! Can be viewed in category 7 (seaplanes) of the plans sections at the RCM website. Any info would be appreciated.

I got the plans last December and have only started a materials list. A young man in Australia has started one and we have been conversing via this forum. His name is Kyle Walker and he is building it for a school project. Look back about a month in this forum and you'll find his thread........Seaplane

I built a Spectra II many years ago, I still have the original article from RCM.
Do not leave the anhedral wingtips off.
Build the arse end Very light, but strong.(Mine was built before Carbon fibre etc was around)
I think I shaved 2lb off the originals weight.
Take off MUST be as instructed..............Full Power, Full Up until you are climbing & bleed off elevator slowly as speed increases.
Push the nose down a little as you back off power and come into land( or is that water)
Used O.S. .61FSR, Futaba J series
Was a great seaplane, but I don't think I would build another.
Try a FN-333 Riviera
