Finally got the PT 19 in the Air today. 10 mph cross wind, but it's a heavy plane no sweat!!! I had one of the instructors and the field check it all out prior to the flight. UP UP and away!! Flew beautifully!! Rolls were not pretty. hammer heads were cool. I didn't add any rudder input during the roll, need to do that next time. Anyway two flights and it was great. Only had to use just a tad of throttle prior to flairing for landing. I LOVE THIS HOBBY AND I LOVE THIS PLANE!!! Great trainer for war birds. NICE!!!!!!!! Gas is easy too. A couple flips of the prop and she was purring like a kitten. I also maidened my balsa nova 40. I'm running a 46 LA engine in it. It dd not like the wind at all!!! Only one flight with it. Need to recheck the CG I think. Also going to try a bigger prop on the PT 19. I turning a 16 X 7 on it now, going to try a 17 X 8, as it seems to need more torque. At any rate, a great day of flying. Heading to hobby store to buy a PA addiction 3d plane. A good day, Heck a GREAT DAY! No crashes!! GIANT scale is cool!! Yep still extremely addicted!!!!!

I agree with Charlie P. 100%. I can only handle one maiden a day. Congrats, and good job, hats off to ya.

16x7 to 17x8 is quite a jump in props. And, the PT-19 is probably not particularly fast so the 8 pitch might be over pitched. To gain torque, at the speeds of that plane, a 6 pitch might be more suitable. What engine and rpms on the 16x7? Also, PT-19s are often floaters but do have a lot of drag so that when there is headwind they often require power on landings to produce a good glide slope but when they are landing into no headwind the glide slope is really shallow and would be made even shallower by more pitch.

SPE 26cc, haven't tached the engine yet. Had the Tach with me, just was too excited about the maiden to even think about getting it out. One of those things I should've checked though. It did not want to do a good roll with just ailerons. Porbably should've used some rudder and more power.

I Like jacks, and I need a kit. Hard landing a few weeks again and my wing is toast!! Did find a guy selling a dynaflite kit for 330.00. my fuse was undamaged from the crash.
