Hi Mark, glad you made it here!!

The current plan is 2 "NY series" races and 1 "big" race. Once things come together next year, we will see how things go. We are always testing on weekends and we can come up with something that includes some grudge racing during the weekend testing.

November 2nd Scott Parker is coming in for a week to widen the west side with a D7H and a excavator.

When that is done, Victor Excavating will come in and lengthen the pond to atleast 700 feet. It is 640 feet long now.

With the course moved a little for next season. We should have 140 feet between buoy 2 and the shore, and 160 feet between buoy 5 and the shore.

The front chute width will be around 75 feet and the back chute width will be 100 feet or more.

I'm not sure who knows this, but the Brick Pond course is not 1/3 mile. I GPS'd the straight at around 280 feet. The straight on Stony Pond is the official size of 330 feet. I bring this up only because I always wondered why there seemed to be more room at the ends when racing on Brick Pond, even though both ponds are about the same length. This confirms the need to lengthen Stony Pond to 700 feet in order to race on a full length IMPBA 1/3 mile course.

If the weather is good the weekend of October 20 and 21, we can pick a day and shovel out the island. We will be shoveling the dirt right into the pond. We don't have time to bring it accross the water in the boat. It is 9 feet deep around the island, so it won't matter anyways. If the weather is warm enough we can also paint the driving stand. I only have two shovels, so bring a shovel if you have one.

Hello Craig well as for official sizes you can used the 1/4 mille at 283ft or the 1/3 mille 330ft from bouyer 1 to 6 with a turn radius of 70ft from bouyer 1 to 3,
this all depends on the club and the size of there pond it's your choice

Yes, there are options. The 1/4 mile course has a radius of 15 feet. The 1/3 mile has a radius of 35 feet. The 1/4 mile is a little tight for some boats. We will stick with a 1/3 mile course. If we ran a 1/4 mile turn, the gas sport hydros would just be using lane 5 for lane 1.

So no real advantage for the bigger boats. A 1/4 mile turn would be fun with 20 tunnels though!

Craig,

Count us in on any races at the pond next summer.

We're on our way home from Charleston - obviously didn't do as well as planned. Found out that the bearings on both motors were junk after the numerous times we over-heated them earlier this year. Oh well - live and learn! There always is next year.

Attached is a vid taken of the pits and tarp area at Charleston. The tents/trailers were at least (3) deep as far as you could see in both directions. The weather was great, low-mid 80's and little or no wind.

Cindy and Tom,

Thanks for sharing the videos. Was that Stu Barr's D hydro? That was friggin fast!

I noticed no clock in the water. I remember seeing a picture on IW's with the clock on shore in front of the driver stand. Was there an audio clock? If the clock was on shore, how did that work out as far as driving and getting on the clock?

Craig,

Yes, that was Stu's boat and yes it was FAST. Found holes though and dunked at least once that I remember.

The clock is on the shore and is directly in front of the driver's stand. Not a problem for the drivers or the cd to see the count down and the start. It makes a "beep" when it starts the 2 1/2 minutes and makes a loud ticking sound to count down the last 5 seconds before the start. At the start it makes a loud audible sound.

Stony Pond is drained 2.5 feet, so weeds are showing a little and size is smaller. Motor is off of retrieve boat. Other than those issues, you can run.

I do have most of my stuff put away but not all. just in case . My 21 rigger is always ready. What about a turkey run ? next month weather permitting & water level. My real boat is done, gone to be winterized. So I got time now. I have had my hand on the Whiplash. My M&D is rebuilt with a new crank. the blue bottom rod is gone. I wonder how many guys had that happen. rod bearing shot. I seen a post on Jims

Yes Joe. Depends on weather though. As long as it's not raining we should be good to go. We should know more in a couple days.

I just finished pouring cement for the support pole on the driver's stand stairs. This will support the stairs better, no more wobble when running up the stairs. It should be cured enough by next weekend. Mean while we should stay off the stairs.

Guys I tried HP2 this season. As the QD setup pages said use only HP2 8oz per gal and I added 2 ox of Koltz Benoil for 10oz total
I was running the Koltz model lube for gas RC last season. Joe Petro said use only that brand. No problems last season.
I do believe I took in water one time this season. The combo of the 2 done it in. HP2 and water ingested.
I have rebuilt the engine with the full circle crank from XForce. via http://www.whhonline.com/
As Joe's new engine has them installed stock. They are a better crank then the Zenhoa. A good cheap up grade.
How did I obtain this information was Bob ,yes the "evil bob"

We now recommend 8 ounces of Amsoil Saber or 10 ounces of Honda HP2 per gallon.
We stock the Amsoil in 8 ounce bottles...

Not this time around. We're spending Sunday and Monday in Quincy and Boston, driving to Springfield on Tuesday, back to Quincy on Thursday and flying out Friday. What we find in Springfield will determine if we drive there in 2015 or not so here's to hoping
