Rick that crackerbox build looks like fun / what are the rules /motors for the Crackerbox class in our district ?

Joe : What if we all build the Sea Monkey and use that for the low end SAW set up...The downwind passes could be well above the speed of smell

I would love to see the Crackerbox class as a stock Zenoah 260 only (just like Thunderboat), but I know 2 people that will want to put RCMK engines in them.

We have not been able to get the Sea Monkey to go faster than the speed of smell, except in a steep dive...
That's how we learned that overall performance is affected when you lose the wing...

Sides on, clamps are your friend.... work quickly.... no doubt!!! (any people who have read zippkit instrustions know these sayings...)
also... glue your fingers to boat.. wife will have a story to use against you forever...(mine dosent have that story, I carried the Bullitt across shop to get knife to remove finger) also have not yet glued fingers to crackerbox...
In addition to lucs post on rules on crackerbox, the bottom is to be flat, no v configuration... A-Box only i believe meets this criteria.
Rick
P.S.on A-BOX build... the first side during glue up,the rear 2 sections of chine slipped and glued with a dip.... i found that on 2 straight sections between bulkheads 4-5 and 3-4 a straight piece of wood to hold bottom perfectly straight helped.

Mike

We do have several CBox around SP ,Dick Joe Bob, I wanna say Roger too. Screwi louie or Big Mike Mentor ,So a class can be added if needed. The flat bottom hull makes for a fun race. Getting -em around the buoys The hull is a easy build almost like the Easy Vee. The Easy Vee build was fast. I won 2011 D1 high points Champion with my EV. Bob's Areomarine Vector won this season. His hull was the fastest around all last season. I kinda droped the Gas mono late in the season ,as I had running /setup issues all season long with my AC45 hoiliday special. I plan on running Joe's power plant ,next season. That's going back to running 4 hulls ,I felt better running just 3 hulls. per race. Gas is easier to learn on. NO cleanup to speak of,just wipe the cable off.,open the radio box.

Merry Christmas to all!

Rick, the cracker box is looking great!! Keep up the good work!

We'll have to discuss what classes to add for the 2013 season. I think 40 hydro will be one of them. The minimum boat count will probably be three. We can discuss this as well. Since only one trophy will be given out for 3 boats, we can financially afford it. Keep in mind that any class that we add, if that class is not added at Brick Pond, your points earned will not go to any final championship. In other words, if you have a 40 hydro and you plan to attend the Brick Pond races also, you may want to run it in open hydro to get a chance at the championship. Just something to think about.

We should post on our website what classes we decided to add. That way there is no confusion and people will remember once the season starts.

We should also decide in advance what types can be combined, like gas Crackerbox and 20 mono... [>:]

That way, if someone shows up with a 60 tunnel, we will have already decided what class would be suitable.
This also works when we only have 1 or 2 boats. Never turn anybody away...

Just sayin...

Yes, good idea. And we can post on the website which class a 60 tunnel would run in as well. That way people know whether to bother. I'm pretty sure Pete puts 40 tunnel in Sport 40. That's a pretty good match up. 60 tunnel might fit well in Sport 40 as well. A K&B .67 might be an even match for today's .45 engines.

How did Joe know I have a .67 Tunnel that I never get to run in Elmira?? BTW...Tom and I both have Cracker's, but we are currently Homie powered. No match for those Zipp Kit 'boxes' with the mod 260's in them. However, mine was fast enough to mangle up the hull at Stony Pond last Summer when I was looking north and driving south!!! Repairs and Zen's should be in the offing by late Spring. I cannot imagine a heat with SIX Cracker's at Stony Pond. It would surely be WILD!!! RC

6 C-box running will be wild. That flat bottom will challenge the most seasoned driver. Look like a novice run next season. If Ricks kids run.

Morgan Mapstone, my brother's 11 year old son, will be racing at Stony Pond next year. He got a .21 tunnel for Christmas! A Top Speed 3 with a new air cooled O.S. outboard. It should be a fast reliable setup, perfect for winning heat races.

When my son, Karl, heard the news, he said he will race as well. That would be my .21 Vision Craft.

Merry Christmas to all. That is a great price for that motor, especially with what comes with it. You can't beat this price. Going to enjoy meeting and running with you folks next year.

Thanks guys! We really like the X-Force engines too.
We try to carry products that really work and are a good value.

For you 45 and twin 45 outrigger guys, we now stock new 7075 aluminum turn fins.
These are made from a special alloy called Nobendium (similar to Nobreakium, but less brittle).
Zippkits 7075 Turn Fins

I don't think even Neil could bend one...

No work, no snow and clear as a bell.
Much to my surprise
Under the tree lie a long box of enormous size!
Could this be it?
A JAE 45 Twin Kit?
Yes!  Santa was here...
Or could it have been Cindy-dear?
A lazer cut model with super motor mount had surfaced.
Thanks to Zipp Kits and Joe Petro for the great service.

Cool! The OPS engines are priced good with the pipe and header included and I bet they will run real well too. Keep them stock.

I have been wondering how the new OPS .90 bi-metal engines run. Not sure many have been run in the states yet. Probably no competition against CMB's, but they are priced right....
