Ok... how do you remove white raindrop stains left on a canopy by flying fuel??? I have tried a few things.. and no way!

I had a Supersportser 60 that I sprayed fuel on the canopy and tried toothpast, several solvents and elbow grease but never did get it off. It must have distracted the pilot because it crashed soon after I quit trying to clean it off.

Well I hope it does not distract this one... the C 182 has not even flown yet...

I had fuel distortion on my voltmeter window and also the meter window on my transmitter. (don't ask how they got there!!) Anyway... I removed most of it with a buffing wheel and jewelers rouge. It will leave a rust colored mess but that will come off with denatured alcohol. It might help to mask off the area. .... lownslo..

3M makes a nice fine cut cleaner. Just use some of that and a soft rag and with a little elbow grease it should come right off

You can get it at pep boys, autozone, napa. Any fine cut cleaner will work. I personally like the mcguires products but they are a bit more in price. If you find McGuires #2 (fine cut cleaner) that works the best.

I have used Novus plastic cleaner and polish on all my canopies, with great results...here's a url for it, but it can be gotten a lot of other places, as well...

I used mineral spirits and it worked great. I also used mineral spirits on a canopy that had after spray on it from painting it and it worked great.
