heres my cars. i was on ebay saw 4 painted hpi shells and bought them for £35. i dont have pics of them all yet but here is a couple so far.
ps. i took the VW beetle RSi spoiler and put it on the Audi TT to see what it looked like and i have just kept it there to be differant .
the beetle is kind of pearlescent blue/purple/black and the others are just single paint jobs. i have still to try and get some cool designs but i dont have much confidence to do my own stuff yet but soon hopefully

Well, bud, that's kinda the point of this thread...
Don't be afriad to do it yourself. The worst that can happen is you have to start over and redo a body. I've painted about 20 boddies and still mess up sometimes. just keep it simple at first. Racing stripes are fairly easy and you don't even need an airbrush to do it. Give it a shot, I'm sure you will be much more proud of your bodies if you paint them yourself and you will get better and better with each one!

I totally agree ... I've been out of RC body painting for 15 years and just got back into. I was heavy into RCing when I was a teenager and it's drastically changed over 15 years. That Skyline was my first real non-single color paint job I've done. I kept it simple and did just the two stripes. It has its boo-boo ... but that's ok! Learn as ya go I suppose! I'm a big advocate of testing on scraps cut from the body mold before doing the actual thing. Granted I probably waste alot of paint, but on well ... 4 bucks as compared to 20!

cool. i think i might just give it a go. as you say the worst that could happen is you could mess up a bit but you just gotta learn to work around you mistakes. and when i do get my first body done you guys here will obviously be the first to see it
.steven.

Nice. Sounds great Steven! You can do it. And actually, if you want to try one with only one color to start with, thatt's fine too! That will get you in the feel for things.

Keep in mind that not everyone can paint like some of these guys on a canvas let alone a car! i can't paint a straight line fo heaven's sake! LOL... Try some of XXX masks. That's how I do all of my flames. I can't paint them from scratch unless Iuse liquid mask first. No way can I do it free hand. You are looking at some really great artists! so don't compare yourself to them. Get creative. There are many things you can do with blocks of masking tape. i have an air brush and I still paint half my cars with cans because it's easier to clean up... LOL... You will be proud to show off any paint job you do yourself! Good luck. And don't forget to wash the inside of the body first! G.

that is not really my car, i know that it is technically blown but most of the time when people say blown they are referring to superchargers cause they are called blowers. i have a car like that, but mine is 4 door and isnt an ss. i just thought since some guys were putting pictures of 1/1 scale i thought i would too. ido agree about the supercharger over the turbo. but the guy drives that car to work on nice days. sorry about going off topic though.
